There isn't a new orchid named after Kalimpong by Dr. Rajendra Yonzone. Instead, Dr. Rajendra Yonzone, a botanist from the Kalimpong region, discovered a new terrestrial orchid in the Kalimpong district and it was named Zeuxine yonzoneana in his honor. The orchid was first found in the Samalbong area of Kalimpong in 2017 and was officially recognized after being published in the journal Phytotaxa.

79th Independence Day 2025🇮🇳 At Mela Ground Kalimpong
Independence Day celebrations on August 15th are widely recognized as second only to Delhi in terms of grandness and participation within India. The celebrations in Kalimpong are known for their unique traditions, vibrant atmosphere, and strong community involvement. 🇮🇳

यस वर्षको स्वतन्त्र दिवस समारोहमा कालेबुङ मेलाटारमा मैले पनि भाग लिएको थिए।
कालेबुङका प्रचलित पाठशाला Scottish University Mission Institution Kalimpong बाट यस वर्ष परेटमा भाग लिने मौका मलाई पनि मिल्यो।
यस वर्ष मेरो पाठशालाको अन्तिम वर्ष भएको कारण मेरो जीवनको इतिहासमा मैले लेखिएको छु।मैले पनि यस वर्ष मेलाटारमा परेटोलीमा भाग लिएको थियो ।
हृदयमा एकदमै खुसी लागेको छ। यस वर्ष मैले कालेबुङको प्रचलित मेलाटारमा आफ्नो प्रस्तुति दिन पाए जीवनको हरेक मोडमा सिक्ने मौका पाए ।
मेहनतको फल मिठो हुन्छ भन्छ त्यस्तै नै "हामीले पनि मेहनत गरियो र यस वर्ष परेटमा हाम्रो पाठशाला एसयुएमआई दोस्रो स्थानमा हामी पुग्न सक्षम भयो”।
सर्वप्रथम मेरो श्रेष्ठकर्ता परमेश्वरलाई धन्यवाद दिन चाहन्छु जसले मलाई यो सुन्दर जीवन दिनुभयो र सँगसँगै एस युएमआई का शिक्षक शिक्षिका साथै प्रधान अध्यापक लाई पनि हृदयको आन्तरिक हृदयबाट धन्यवाद दिन चाहन्छु। 🙏
मेरो जीवनको इतिहासिक दिन मैले आज कालेबुङको मेलाटारमा लेख्न सके।

पहिलो छुटेपनि आजै भयो र अन्तिम पनि हो जस्तो लाग्छ मलाई अब फेरि म कुनै पनि पाठशालाबाट आफ्नो विद्यार्थी जीवनको परेट टोलीबाट प्रस्तुति दिन पाउँदिन होला अन्तिम हो यादगाह्रै भयो।
कालिबुङ्गा स्वतन्त्र दिवस सम्हारो कमिटीलाई पनि धन्यवाद दिन चाहन्छु। जसले हामीलाई यो सुन्दर अवसर दिनुभयो।🙏
