The tragic death of Mihirlal Debnath shook all of us. But unlike empty words, the State Government under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr.Manik Saha has shown prompt action and responsibility:

✅ Immediate formation of a high level inquiry committee
✅ Suspension of the SDM of Teliamura
✅ Show-cause notice to the DM & Collector, Khowai
✅ Financial aid of ₹6 lakh sanctioned
✅ Senior Ministers personally visiting the bereaved family

This is not just governance, this is responsive governance.

Thank you, Dr. Manik Saha sir, for standing by the people in their hour of grief and ensuring justice is not just promised but pursued.
Let’s hold institutions accountable, but also learn to acknowledge when the system responds rightly. Criticism without facts is noise, we choose to stand by justice and truth.

“The Agony of Omayra Sánchez” her face flashed before my eyes today. Omayra was just 13 when she got trapped in volcanic debris during the 1985 Nevado del Ruiz eruption. For three long days, she waited half submerged, in pain, with hope in her eyes. She died shortly after the photograph was taken.

Today, a similar pain resurfaced with the tragic incident of truck driver and owner Mihir Debnath in Chakmaghat, Tripura. Trapped in the cabin, crushed under the debris, he waited for nearly seven hours and begged everyone for help. Sadly, only his mortal remains were recovered from the wreckage.

Both Omayra and Mihir waited.
Waited to be rescued.
Waited for help.
Waited… until their final breath.
It’s tragic 😭

I'm thankful to the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tripura for his intervention to set up an inquiry and punish the negligent.

A heartfelt thanks to Dr.Abir Lal Nath for the incredible care and compassion he has shown to my mother.
Despite his busy schedule, he took the time to not only attend to her medical needs but also make her feel completely safe and cared for, like family. From the first phone call to the moment she was admitted and treated, his empathy and dedication stood out at every step.
"ভয় পাবেন না মা, আপনাকে এমনভাবে রাখব যেন বুঝতেই পারবেন না আপনি হাসপাতালে আছেন" weren’t just words. They were a promise, and he truly delivered on it.

Right now, Maa is feeling better and responding to medication. We are waiting to see if surgery will be required after the treatment course is completed. But no matter what lies ahead, we are at peace knowing she is in such capable and kind hands.

Last but not the least, thanks to Dr. Reddy, whom Abir Da personally called in to assess the surgical aspect of the case. Your expert opinion and warm approach brought us much needed clarity and reassurance during this time.

To both of you, and the entire medical team, Thank You from the bottom of my heart. This experience reminded us that real healing begins not just with medicine, but with kindness ❤️

রসেল আমার বন্ধু। সে সবসময় আমাদের মাননীয় মন্ত্রী টিংকু রায় স্যারের সঙ্গে ব্যস্ত থাকে। হঠাৎ একদিন ফোন করে বলল, “কেমন আছো অভির দা? মা’কে তোমার কাছে দেখাতে চাই।” সেই মুহূর্তে একেবারে অন্যরকম লাগল… একজন বন্ধু, যার জীবনে সবসময় ব্যস্ততা, হঠাৎ নিজের মায়ের জন্য সাহায্য চাইছে—তখন বুঝলাম, এই ফোনটা ওর হৃদয় থেকে এসেছে।

আমি বললাম, “নিশ্চয়ই ভাই, নিয়ে এসো ওনাকে।”
রসেলের মা এলেন… আমি হেসে জিজ্ঞেস করলাম, “রসেলের কি সময় মেলে তোমার জন্য?” উনি মৃদু হেসে মাথা নাড়ালেন। সেই হাসির ভেতর এক বিশাল মায়া, এক গভীর অনুভূতি—মায়ের মুখে ছেলের ভালোবাসার প্রতিচ্ছবি।

উনার হাঁটার কিছুটা অসুবিধা ছিল, পায়ে ব্যথা করত। আমরা NCV টেস্ট করালাম—ভাগ্যক্রমে বড় কোনো নার্ভ ড্যামেজ ধরা পড়েনি। আমি বললাম, “একটা MRI করাতে হবে, আর ভর্তি হতে হবে GB হাসপাতালে।” উনি একটু ভয় পেয়ে গেলেন—"ভর্তি? GB?"

আমি হেসে বললাম, “ভয় পাবেন না মা, আপনাকে এমনভাবে রাখব যেন বুঝতেই পারবেন না আপনি হাসপাতালে আছেন। AC ওয়ার্ডে রাখব, সবরকম সুবিধা দেওয়ার চেষ্টা করব।” উনি নিঃশব্দে মাথা নাড়ালেন, তবুও চোখে একটা অজানা শঙ্কা ছিল।

আমরা ভর্তি করালাম নিউরোলজি বিভাগে। MRI রিপোর্টে দেখা গেল ল্যাম্বার রিজিয়নে নার্ভে চাপ পড়ছে। নিউরোসার্জিক মতামতের কথা ভাবা হল। ঠিক তখনই একটি অদ্ভুত অথচ গর্বের মুহূর্ত এল—আমাদের মাননীয় মুখ্যমন্ত্রী ডঃ মানিক সাহা স্যার নিজে এসে ওনার খোঁজ নিলেন।

একদিন রাউন্ডে এসে আমি বললাম, “আপনার একটা ছোট অপারেশন দরকার হবে। চিন্তা করবেন না, আপনি সুরক্ষিত হাতে আছেন।” আমি বললাম, “হয়তো আপনাকে অন্য বিল্ডিংয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে।”
উনি সরাসরি বললেন, “না না বাবা, আমি এখানেই থাকতে চাই… এক মাস থাকলেও থাকব… কিন্তু এখানে থাকতেই চাই।”
আমরা সবাই হেসে উঠলাম।আমি বুঝে গিয়েছিলাম, আমরা যদি কাউকে এমন অনুভূতি দিতে পারি, যে হাসপাতালকেও ঘরের মতো মনে হয়… তবে বুঝতে হবে আমরা আসল অর্থে মানুষকে সেবা করতে পেরেছি।

এই সফল অভিজ্ঞতার পেছনে যাঁরা নীরবে কাজ করেন—আমাদের GDA স্টাফ, পরিচ্ছন্নতা কর্মীরা—তাঁদের প্রতি অসীম কৃতজ্ঞতা। ওনারা প্রতিদিন হাসিমুখে ওয়ার্ড পরিষ্কার রাখেন, রোগীদের সম্মানের সঙ্গে রাখেন।

আজ আমরা ওনাকে ছেড়ে দিচ্ছি—অনেকটাই ভালো আছেন। যাওয়ার আগে বললেন, “যদি আবার ভর্তি হতে হয়, আমি এই ওয়ার্ডেই থাকব, অভির
হাসিমুখে, হৃদয়ভরা ভালোবাসা নিয়ে উনি হাসপাতাল ছাড়লেন।

এমনই সম্পর্ক, এমনই অনুভূতির জন্যই হয়তো আমরা ডাক্তারি করি… রোগীর শুধু চিকিৎসা নয়, ওনাদের মনটা ভালো রাখা—সেটাই আমাদের আসল দায়িত্ব।

Dear Friends
As many of you have been concerned and have reached out with your prayers and well wishes, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

After several tests and medical consultations, the doctors have confirmed that my mother will need Spine Surgery due to nerve compression. It’s a difficult but necessary step for her recovery and long term mobility.

She is currently under treatment at GB Hospital Agartala, and I’m staying strong with faith and positivity. The surgery is being planned soon, and I’m hopeful it will bring her much needed relief from the pain she’s been enduring.

Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Your support means everything to us during this time. I’ll keep you all updated.
