Appeal to Reopen Trekking Routes in Kashmir
To,
The Honorable Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir
The Government of India
Subject: Request to Reopen Trekking Routes in Kashmir
Respected Sir/Madam,
We, the trekking guides, pony owners, porters, adventure tourism workers, and local communities of Kashmir, respectfully request the reopening of trekking routes across the region.
Thousands of families depend on trekking and adventure tourism for their livelihood. The closure of trekking routes has significantly affected guides, horsemen, porters, camp staff, transport operators, and many local businesses.
Kashmir is known worldwide for its beautiful mountains, alpine lakes, and trekking trails. Reopening these routes under proper safety guidelines will support local employment, promote tourism, and help sustain the economy of remote mountain communities.
We humbly appeal to the Government of India and the Jammu & Kashmir Administration to consider reopening the trekking routes at the earliest possible opportunity.
"Save Livelihoods, Support Adventure Tourism, Reopen Kashmir Treks."
Sincerely,
Trekking Guides, Pony Owners, Porters, Adventure Tourism Workers, and Local Communities of Kashmir
