Hanumanji Puja Committee Longai Road: A Journey of Faith and Devotion

Established in 2018, the Hanumanji Puja Committee Longai Road is dedicated to spreading the message of devotion and unity among the community. The idea of forming the committee was initiated by Pranjal Chakraborty and Sudip Das, along with a few like-minded individuals who shared a passion for worship and service. This space is

currently a revered shrine dedicated to Lord Hanuman, a revered deity in Hindu mythology known for his unwavering devotion and strength. The committee's mission is to create a sacred space where devotees can come together to pray, reflect, and connect with each other. Under the able leadership of Mr. Surjya Singh (President), the committee has been actively involved in various activities aimed at promoting cultural heritage, community service, and spiritual growth. The committee was later boosted by the efforts of several dedicated individuals, including Mr. Biplab Bhattacharjee, Mr. Avinash Deb, Mr. Suman Das, Mr. Boni Deb, Mr. Gourab Das, Mr. Arup Dey, Mr. Joydeep Deb, Mr. Bikash Deb, Mr. Devabrata Goswami, Mr. Bhudeb Dutta, Mr. Samik Sen, Mr. Rupak Sen, Mr. Biju Sen, Mr. Pipon Sen, Mr. Bijoy Sutradhar, Mr. Raja Chetri, Mr. Dipon Namasudra, Mr. Amol Roy, Mr. Rahul Das, Satyabrata Deb, and Mr. Gautam Chakraborthy. Today, the strength of the committee has increased to approximately 70 members, with new members joining regularly. The committee's commitment to its mission remains unwavering, as it continues to organize yearly puja services, special pujas and festivals, cultural programs, and community service initiatives. As we move forward, the Hanumanji Puja Committee Longai Road remains dedicated to its core values of devotion, service, and harmony, striving to make a positive impact on the lives of all those who pass through its doors.

Gautam Daa was a beloved part of our community, whose warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication touched all our lives. His absence leaves a deep void in our hearts, and we are truly emotional and mourn his untimely departure.

In the tranquil region of Sribhumi, Assam, the government had announced a plan to clear unauthorized land occupied by people for business purposes along Longai Road. The authorities issued formal warnings, urging the shop vendors to vacate the area voluntarily; emphasizing that eviction would proceed strictly as per the law if they refused to comply.
However, the situation took a troubling turn when a group from the Mazjid Committee of Jahanpur, lacking proper education and awareness, misinterpreted the government's intentions. Instead of understanding the legal directives, they saw it as an attack on their community and began to spread misinformation. They started barring the area, inciting tension among the local people, and making communal statements that heightened fears and misunderstandings.
What added to the confusion was their ignorance of the land’s true layout. They falsely claimed that the land included sacred sites such as a temple and the Bilva (or Bael) tree, which is revered in Hinduism, especially in relation to Lord Shiva. In reality, the land in question was a different area altogether, and the sacred site was nowhere near the unauthorized settlement.
This misjudgment and the ill-informed actions of the Longai Mazjid Committee had the potential to escalate into violence and communal discord, which was unacceptable to the authorities and the broader community. It underscored the importance of education and awareness in fostering harmony and understanding.
The incident serves as a reminder that knowledge and clarity are vital in resolving conflicts. It is essential for everyone, especially community leaders, to educate them thoroughly to act responsibly and maturely. Only through learning and mutual respect can societies progress peacefully and avoid unnecessary misunderstandings or confrontations.

Urgent Attention Required for the Poor State of Civil Hospital and Public Infrastructure in Karimganj/Sribhumi...

On 16th July 2025, following a medical emergency involving the daughter of one of our committee members, a group of members visited the Civil Hospital in Karimganj to seek medical assistance. This visit revealed alarming conditions that reflect the neglect and lack of proper governance in our city.

1. Hospital Cleanliness and Hygiene:
The hospital's cleanliness standards are extremely poor, with visible dirt, waste, and unhygienic conditions throughout the premises. The sanitation facilities are inadequate, posing serious health risks to patients and visitors alike.

2. Infrastructure:
The infrastructure of the hospital is in a dilapidated state, with broken walls, malfunctioning equipment, and inadequate medical facilities. The overall condition can be rated negatively, indicating a complete neglect of essential healthcare infrastructure.

3. Administrative and Governance Issues:
The absence of active leadership from elected representatives, such as the MLA or local ministers, is evident. There appears to be no active government department overseeing or managing healthcare services or civic amenities in Karimganj.

4. Public Facilities:
The streets, public spaces, and sanitation facilities are neglected, further exacerbating the poor living conditions.

The state of the Civil Hospital and civic infrastructure in Karimganj is shameful and demands immediate intervention. The neglect from government authorities has led to a breakdown of essential services, directly impacting the health and well-being of residents.
