The committee's primary objective is to conduct daily puja (worship) at the premises of Longai Beat Forest Office located at Longai Road, Karimganj.

Hanumanji Puja Committee Longai Road: A Journey of Faith and Devotion

Established in 2018, the Hanumanji Puja Committee Longai Road is dedicated to spreading the message of devotion and unity among the community. The idea of forming the committee was initiated by Pranjal Chakraborty and Sudip Das, along with a few like-minded individuals who shared a passion for worship and service. This space is

currently a revered shrine dedicated to Lord Hanuman, a revered deity in Hindu mythology known for his unwavering devotion and strength. The committee's mission is to create a sacred space where devotees can come together to pray, reflect, and connect with each other. Under the able leadership of Mr. Surjya Singh (President), the committee has been actively involved in various activities aimed at promoting cultural heritage, community service, and spiritual growth. The committee was later boosted by the efforts of several dedicated individuals, including Mr. Biplab Bhattacharjee, Mr. Avinash Deb, Mr. Suman Das, Mr. Boni Deb, Mr. Gourab Das, Mr. Arup Dey, Mr. Joydeep Deb, Mr. Bikash Deb, Mr. Devabrata Goswami, Mr. Bhudeb Dutta, Mr. Samik Sen, Mr. Rupak Sen, Mr. Biju Sen, Mr. Pipon Sen, Mr. Bijoy Sutradhar, Mr. Raja Chetri, Mr. Dipon Namasudra, Mr. Amol Roy, Mr. Rahul Das, Satyabrata Deb, and Mr. Gautam Chakraborthy. Today, the strength of the committee has increased to approximately 70 members, with new members joining regularly. The committee's commitment to its mission remains unwavering, as it continues to organize yearly puja services, special pujas and festivals, cultural programs, and community service initiatives. As we move forward, the Hanumanji Puja Committee Longai Road remains dedicated to its core values of devotion, service, and harmony, striving to make a positive impact on the lives of all those who pass through its doors.

🌧️ Claps cannot be played by a single hand. 🌧️

Earlier, Sribhumi district faced floods only once in decades. But in recent years, heavy rains have become a regular occurrence. Every monsoon, the district seems to drown under its own rainwater. While the number of buildings is increasing, infrastructure development remains stagnant. Roads built years ago are neglected, with no maintenance in sight.

Many are busy changing signs from Karimganj to Sribhumi, but true development stays hidden beneath the streets. Retail malls open with hopes, only to shut down due to lack of business. People blame the government, feeling helpless and without options.

Open fields are filled with garbage, as municipal vehicles only started a few days back — and even then, changing habits takes time. During floods, families shift to schools or shelters, while some organizations take selfies after distributing food and water.

Street lights flicker on for a few days, but if they go out, no one seems to notice or care. Leaking pipelines require endless letters, approvals, and politicking, and still, repairs are uncertain. Traffic police busy issuing fines for helmets, yet accidents remain uncontrolled. Electric meters changed from manual to digital, but power outages persist at the slightest gust of wind.

Many schemes are sanctioned, funds allocated, but payments remain pending. We spend millions on helicopter rides and travel, yet the municipality struggles with basic budgets. Photoshoots, meetings, and slogans fill social media, but real development and emergency preparedness take a backseat.

Sribhumi feels normal on the surface, but beneath lies a different reality — one that only those who live here truly understand.

আগের সময়ে, শ্রীভুমি জেলা কেবলমাত্র কয়েক দশকে একবার বন্যার মুখোমুখি হতো। তবে সাম্প্রতিক বছরগুলোতে ভারী বর্ষণ নিয়মিত ঘটনা হয়ে উঠেছে। প্রতিটি মৌসুমে, জেলা যেন নিজের বর্ষার পানিতে ডুবন্ত। যেখানে ভবনের সংখ্যা বাড়ছে, সেখানে অবকাঠামো উন্নয়ন এখনও স্থবির। বহু বছর আগে নির্মিত সড়কগুলো অবহেলিত, কোন রক্ষণাবেক্ষণের দেখা মিলছে না।

অনেকে করিমগঞ্জ থেকে শ্রীভুমিতে সাইন বদলের কাজে ব্যস্ত, কিন্তু সত্যিকার উন্নয়ন কেবল রাস্তার নিচে লুকানো। খুচরা মার্কেটগুলো উদ্দীপনায় খোলা হয়, কিন্তু ব্যবসার অভাবে বন্ধ হয়ে যায়। মানুষ সরকারকে দোষ দেয়, হতাশ ও অপরিহার্যতার অভাবে বোধ করে।

খালি মাঠগুলো আবর্জনায় পূর্ণ, কারণ পৌরসভার যানবাহন কেবল কয়েক দিন আগে শুরু হয়েছে — আর তাতেও বদলে যাওয়া অভ্যাসে সময় লাগবে। বন্যার সময় পরিবারগুলো স্কুল বা আশ্রয়ে স্থানান্তর হয়, আর কিছু সংস্থা খাবার ও জল বিতরণের পর সেলফি তোলে।

রাস্তার আলো কয়েক দিন জ্বলে, কিন্তু যদি বন্ধ হয়ে যায়, কেউ মনে করে না বা দেখেও না। ফুঁড়ে যাওয়া পাইপলাইনের জন্য অসংখ্য চিঠি, অনুমোদন ও রাজনীতির দরকার হয়, তবুও মেরামত নিশ্চিত নয়। ট্রাফিক পুলিশ হেলমেটের জন্য জরিমানা করছে, কিন্তু দুর্ঘটনা এখনও নিয়ন্ত্রণে নেই। বৈদ্যুতিক মিটার ম্যানুয়াল থেকে ডিজিটাল এ পরিবর্তিত হয়েছে, কিন্তু হাওয়ার হালকা ঝোড়ো gust-এ বিদ্যুৎ বিভ্রাট অব্যাহত।

অনেক প্রকল্প অনুমোদিত, তহবিল বরাদ্দ, কিন্তু অর্থপ্রদান এখনও পেন্ডিং। আমরা হেলিকপ্টার ভ্রমণ ও যাত্রায় কোটি কোটি টাকা খরচ করি, কিন্তু পৌরসভা মূল বাজেট নিয়ে সংগ্রাম করে। ছবি তোলা, সভা, স্লোগান সামাজিক মাধ্যমে ভরপুর, কিন্তু বাস্তব উন্নয়ন ও জরুরি প্রস্তুতি পিছিয়ে রয়েছে।

শ্রীভুমি সামগ্রিকভাবে স্বাভাবিক মনে হয়, কিন্তু এর নিচে অন্য এক বাস্তবতা লুকানো — এমনটি বোঝে শুধুই তারা যারা এখানকার বাসিন্দা।

As the Hanumanji Puja Committee of Longai Road, Sribhumi, Assam, we wish to clarify our stance regarding our support for the BJP Party. Our endorsement is not motivated by funding or any kind of backup power for our committee. Instead, it is rooted in our appreciation for the positive work and initiatives taken by the BJP government that have made a tangible difference in the lives of our people and our country.

It has come to our attention that at Longai and nearby areas, there appears to be a rather peculiar competition among members of the BJP, even as they share the same party. This situation not only raises eyebrows but also reflects poorly on the integrity and united front that the BJP party strives to uphold. It's almost humorous to witness such antics unfold!

Furthermore, during the ongoing GP election campaigning at Longai and nearby areas, we have observed that some people, who recently joined the BJP after being ousted from other political parties, seem to be trying to manipulate the environment for their own gain. We believe that true loyalty to one's party comes with responsibility and respect for the community.

As steadfast supporters of the BJP Government, we urge our local BJP leaders in Sribhumi to take note of these troubling behaviors. It is crucial to identify and address these ‘parasites’ who risk tarnishing the hard-earned reputation of the BJP party in Longai and nearby areas.
