Urgent Appeal for Timely Disbursement of March Salaries Before Eid ul Fitr

Srinagar, 19 March: As the auspicious occasion of Eid ul Fitr approaches, I, Saleem Sagar, Chairman, earnestly urge the government to ensure the timely release of March salaries for all employees. This sacred month of Ramadan is a time of reflection, compassion, and generosity, yet many employees are facing financial strain due to rising costs and additional expenses associated with Iftar, Eid preparations, and family obligations.

Timely salary disbursement is not merely a financial transaction; it is a matter of dignity and well-being for thousands of employees and their families. Delayed payments can cause unnecessary hardships, overshadowing the joy and spiritual fulfillment of this blessed time. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that no family struggles during Eid due to financial constraints.

I urge the administration to prioritize this issue with the urgency it deserves and take swift action to release salaries at the earliest. Such a decision will reinforce the government’s commitment to employee welfare and uphold the spirit of compassion and fairness that Ramadan teaches us.

Let us stand together in ensuring that every employee celebrates Eid with peace of mind and joy. We trust that the authorities will respond positively to this sincere request.

*Urgent Appeal for Timely Distribution of Free Textbooks to Government School Students*

Jammu & Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) expresses deep concern over the delay in the distribution of free textbooks to government school students. With the new academic session set to begin soon, students across Jammu & Kashmir are yet to receive their complete set of books. As of now, the Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has only provided one or two books, leaving students struggling to prepare for the upcoming academic year.

This delay is a matter of serious concern, as access to textbooks is a fundamental right of students under the Right to Education (RTE) Act. The non-availability of books disrupts the learning process, putting government school students at a disadvantage compared to their counterparts in private institutions. It is disheartening that despite various initiatives for educational reform, students are still facing such basic challenges.

JKTJAC chairman Saleem Sagar urges the Administrative Secretary, School Education Department, to immediately intervene and ensure that the remaining books are supplied to all government schools without any further delay. It is imperative that the distribution process is expedited so that students receive their complete set of books before February 28, 2025.

Furthermore, we call upon all concerned authorities, education stakeholders, and child welfare organizations to raise their voices against this issue. Ensuring free and compulsory education is not just a policy obligation but a moral duty toward our future generations.

We hope the administration will take swift action to address this pressing issue and provide students with the resources they need to pursue their education without hindrance.
