Gen NS Raja Subramani Takes Charge as India’s New Chief of Defence Staff

New Delhi, May 31: General NS Raja Subramani on Sunday assumed charge as India’s new Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), succeeding General Anil Chauhan after the completion of his tenure.

A military strategist with extensive experience on matters related to Pakistan and China, Gen Subramani previously served as Military Adviser at the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) and retired as the Vice Chief of Army Staff.

After taking over as CDS, Gen Subramani stated that strengthening tri-services integration, accelerating military reforms, and implementing the theatre command structure would be among his top priorities. He also emphasized the need to boost the development, induction, and integration of indigenous defence technologies and weapon systems into the armed forces.

Assuring the nation of the armed forces’ commitment, Gen Subramani said that India’s military would continue to serve with dedication, professionalism, and courage while safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

As the new CDS, he is expected to play a key role in advancing military modernization and enhancing coordination among the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign Completes 50 Days: Over 1,000 Drug Peddlers Arrested, Narcotics Worth Crores Seized

Srinagar, May 31: The ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Campaign has achieved significant success in its first 50 days, intensifying the fight against drug abuse and narco-terrorism across the Union Territory.

According to official figures, a total of 1,018 drug peddlers have been arrested and 923 FIRs registered during the campaign. Security agencies and police have seized 341 kilograms of narcotic substances, including 12 kilograms of he**in valued at approximately ₹120 crore. More than 23,000 psychotropic tablets have also been recovered.

In a major crackdown on the financial networks supporting drug trafficking, authorities have taken action against properties worth over ₹200 crore linked to the narcotics trade. Several immovable assets have been seized, while illegal constructions associated with drug networks have been demolished.

Officials stated that the campaign aims not only to eliminate drug trafficking but also to dismantle the financial infrastructure of narco-terrorism operating in the region.

Speaking on the initiative, Manoj Sinha reiterated that the campaign against drug traffickers and narco-terror elements will continue relentlessly until every offender is brought to justice.

The Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Campaign remains one of the largest anti-drug drives in the region, reflecting the administration’s commitment to creating a drug-free society.

Summer Vacations Announced for Colleges in Jammu Division from June 1

Jammu, May 31, 2026: Minister for Education, Higher Education, Health and Medical Education, and Social Welfare, Sakeena Itoo has announced summer vacations for all Government and Private Colleges falling under the Summer Zone of Jammu Division.

According to the announcement, the vacation period will begin on June 1, 2026, and continue until July 15, 2026.

Sharing the update on social media, the Minister stated that the decision has been taken in view of the onset of the summer season and to ensure the well-being of students, teaching faculty, and other staff members.

The announcement provides relief to thousands of college students across the Jammu Division as temperatures continue to rise during the summer months.

पुरुषोत्तम मास के उपलक्ष्य में आयोजित श्रीमद् भागवत कथा ज्ञान यज्ञ में MAAsterG ने की गरिमामयी सहभागिता

नई दिल्ली, 27 मई 2026: पुरुषोत्तम मास के पावन अवसर पर श्री सनातन धर्म मंदिर, न्यू मुल्तान नगर, नई दिल्ली में राधा माधव गौ सेवा समिति द्वारा आयोजित गौ-महिमा आधारित श्रीमद् भागवत कथा ज्ञान यज्ञ में MAAsterG ने मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में भाग लिया। कार्यक्रम में उनकी उपस्थिति पूज्य श्री भाई महावीर शर्मा जी के विशेष निमंत्रण पर रही।

अपने संबोधन में MAAsterG ने श्रद्धालुओं को आध्यात्मिक जीवन के महत्व पर प्रकाश डालते हुए कहा कि मंदिर जाना केवल एक स्थान पर पहुंचना नहीं, बल्कि अपने अंतर्मन में प्रवेश कर ईश्वर का अनुभव करना है। उन्होंने कहा कि यदि मनुष्य अंत समय तक मोह-माया के बंधनों में उलझा रहता है, तो उसे पुनः जन्म-मरण के चक्र से गुजरना पड़ता है।

कथा के दौरान जीवन के चारों आश्रमों की महत्ता का उल्लेख करते हुए उन्होंने बताया कि भगवान से वास्तविक मिलन तभी संभव है, जब मनुष्य माया के प्रति आसक्ति छोड़कर पूर्ण सत्यनिष्ठा और समर्पण के साथ ईश्वर की शरण में आए।

MAAsterG ने अपने जीवन अनुभव साझा करते हुए बताया कि वर्ष 2007 में उन्हें आत्मबोध की अनुभूति हुई। इसके बाद उन्होंने लगभग 16 वर्षों तक व्यक्तिगत रूप से लाखों लोगों के साथ अपने अनुभव साझा किए। उन्होंने देखा कि 10 वर्ष के बच्चों से लेकर 80 वर्ष की बुजुर्ग महिलाओं तक, चार पीढ़ियां एक साथ आनंद और उत्साह का अनुभव कर रही थीं।

Summer Vacations Announced for Jammu Division Schools from June 1

Jammu, May 23: Minister for Education Sakina Itoo announced summer vacations for schools falling under the Summer Zone of Jammu Division in view of the prevailing weather conditions.

According to the announcement, summer vacations for Primary Classes will commence from June 1, 2026, while vacations for students of Classes 6th to 12th will begin from June 8, 2026.

Wishing students a joyful break, Sakina Itoo said, “Wishing all students a safe and enjoyable vacation.”

SAMBA POLICE SOLVES BLIND MURDER CASE OF BARI BRAHMANA WITHIN 48 HOURS; ACCUSED ARRESTED, WEAPON OF OFFENCE RECOVERED

Samba: May 23, 2026: In a significant breakthrough achieved through meticulous investigation and swift action, Samba Police has successfully solved a blind murder case of a woman in the Bari Brahmana area within 48 hours by arresting the accused and recovering the weapon of offence.

On 18.05.2026, Police Station Bari Brahmana received reliable information regarding the murder of a lady namely Anuradha W/o Ajay Kumar R/o Ward No. 07, Channi Kartholi, Tehsil Bari Brahmana, whose dead body was found lying inside her residence.

Acting promptly, FIR No. 128/2026 u/s 103 BNS was registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana and investigation was immediately set into motion.

During investigation, extensive enquiry, technical analysis, collection of evidence, witness examination and verification of multiple leads were carried out. Based on generated information and technical evidence, a police team conducted a raid at Village Bhagwan Chak, Tehsil Khour, District Jammu and rounded up one suspect namely Chhail Singh S/o Gian Singh R/O Village Bhagwan Chak, Tehsil Khour, District Jammu for sustained questioning.

During interrogation and investigation, the involvement of the accused was found. Technical evidence established that the accused was in constant contact with the deceased through phone calls.

Investigation further revealed that the deceased was related to the accused and both were allegedly involved in an illicit relationship, which had led to disputes between them over the past several days. It surfaced during investigation that on the day of the incident, the accused visited the residence of the deceased and, during an altercation, intentionally committed murder upon her.

Accordingly, the accused Chhail Singh was formally arrested on 20th May 2026 under relevant provisions of law. Investigation further revealed that he is a retired Army personnel presently employed with Reliance Security Services, Mumbai.

During investigation, the weapon of offence used in the commission of crime was also recovered.

The murder case was solved within 48 hours by a dedicated team of PS Bari Brahmana headed by SHO Bari Brahmana under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana and under the overall supervision of SSP Samba.

NHPC Limited Conducts Cleanliness and Plogging Drive Along Seva River in Basohli

Basohli, May 23: As part of the “Swachhta Pakhwada–2026” campaign, NHPC Limited Seva-II Power Station Mashka organized a cleanliness and plogging drive along the banks of the Seva River in Basohli.

The campaign was led by Power Station Head Madan Lal Sharma, who personally participated in the drive from the Seva-II administrative building to the riverbank by collecting litter scattered along the route. He also took part in cleaning activities near the river.

Officials and employees of the Seva-II Power Station actively joined the plogging campaign and collected plastic waste, paper, bottles and other garbage from the roadside areas. A large-scale cleanliness drive was later carried out along the banks of the Seva River to make the riverfront clean and pollution-free. Proper disposal of the collected waste was also ensured.

Speaking on the occasion, Madan Lal Sharma said that collective participation is essential for maintaining a clean and healthy environment. He added that such cleanliness initiatives play an important role in spreading awareness about sanitation and environmental conservation in society.

The campaign organized under the Swachhta Pakhwada also generated positive awareness among employees and local residents regarding cleanliness and environmental protection.

Punjabi Singer Inder Kaur Found Dead In Ludhiana Canal, Family Alleges Main Accused Escaped To Canada

Punjabi singer Inder Kaur was found dead in a canal in Ludhiana days after she reportedly went missing under mysterious circumstances. According to police officials, her body was recovered from the Neelon Canal and later identified by family members.

The singer had allegedly been abducted at gunpoint on May 13 from the Mundian Kalan area of Ludhiana. Following the recovery of her body, police registered a murder case and launched an investigation into the incident.

Family members of the singer have accused a man known to her of being involved in the crime, claiming that he fled to Canada after the incident. They alleged that the accused was upset after Inder Kaur rejected his marriage proposal.

Police have detained two suspects linked to the case and further investigation is underway. The tragic death of the young Punjabi singer has sparked shock and outrage among fans and the music industry.
