It is with heavy heart that we,the Marketing and Advertising Club of VGSoM, IIT Kharagpur pay our respects to the late Dr Manmohan Singh.

Dr Singh was a visionary economist and statesman who played a crucial role in liberalizing the economy in India in 1991 by opening up markets paving the way for modern marketing in India.
His policies opened doors to world brands, empowered Indian businesses toward innovation, and raised aspirational consumerism enhancing consumer reach of marketers from the urban to rural domains.
Today, we remember him not only as a leader but also as the catalyst for this thriving marketplace we see in India today.

Rest in peace, Dr. Manmohan Singh.
