Public Announcement 🚨🇱🇷
After Brickson first brought attention to the YouTube page VibeWithElevation, that the channel was posting Liberian artists’ songs without their knowledge. Later, S.I.O also spoke on it, and from there many people started reporting the page including Liberia’s most talked about video director Jackie Russ, whose report actually caused the page to be taken down within minutes.
However, according to Article 7, Section 107 of the U.S. Copyright Law (Fair Use) which covers things like commentary, criticism, promotion, teaching and similar purposes YouTube reviewed the case and decided to restore the channel.
But even with that decision, we have chosen to take a more respectful approach. We have removed all top Liberian artists’ songs from the page and will not upload anyone’s music unless they personally reach out to us and give permission. That is the new policy moving forward.
We also want everyone to know clearly:
👉🏽 We are not making any money from the channel.
Because the page operates under fair-use guidelines for promotional purposes, YouTube does not allow the channel to be monetized. Everything we’ve done has been strictly to promote Liberian entertainment.
There are many other pages that do the same promotional uploads, including Swag Global Record, Nocase Official, DJ Ropeace Afro Trenches, and others and it has always been about pushing Liberian music to the world.
At the same time, we are working on building our own studio where we will host Liberian artists for interviews and freestyle sessions to help showcase talent on a global level.
We’ve already helped several upcoming artists who reached out to us, completely free of charge, using our own data, without asking for a single cent in return.
We apologize once again for any misunderstanding this situation may have caused. Our goal has always been and will always remain to support, promote, and uplift Liberian artists. 🙏🏽❤️🇱🇷
