I am honoured till date that my Dad put me in St Marys Catholic High Dubai where 13 precious years of my childhood were spent. If it wasnt for that school, my literary side would have never seen the light as I am not an ardent reader like my daughter.
The GCSE syllabus involved selecting prize winning books for English Literature and that's how I came to know of the existence of so many time honoured authors and their pieces.
One such book that touched my heart and soul and changed my whole outlook on life and myself is "To Kill A Mockingbird". My love for it is not something I can sum up in mere words. But the fact that I still have my school copy in pristine condition after 23 years is self explanatory.
I have read and reread it several times and I'm thrilled that I could make my daughter read it too.
Recently I was at her friends house and a book specifically caught my eye. It drew me closer like Dill was described to be drawn to the Radley place, like waves to the moon. It was the ILLUSTRATED copy of my favorite book. I HAD to have it....
