Some places you enter. Some places receive you.
Shoranur, on the banks of the Nila: a gate, a garden, Ambrose and Mini setting a table for whoever arrives.

A note from FARMER'S SHARE, on the banks of the Nila.
Ambrose Kooliyath does not consider humans separate from nature. Not as metaphor, as biology. Humans belong to their ecosystems, and their role is to help those systems survive.

A minute inside Farmer’s Share, Shoranur.
A farm, a studio, a papermill, a paddy field — all held in one backyard.

Ambrose Kooliyath will tell you Farmer’s Share cannot be replicated.

Every place has its own ecology, its own needs, its own way of being tended, what works on the banks of the Nila will not work anywhere else.

This, for him, is what sustainability actually means.

Nila river. Shoranur. A gate that doesn’t quite tell you what you’re walking into.

Ambrose and Mini Kooliyath work with the farmers nearby — paddy cultivation, fair prices at harvest, food and labour and knowledge kept rooted where they belong. What the potters shape, the papermakers sit beside. Nothing here is trying to scale.

EP04: Shared Ground. Out now.

See you at the table 🤍

Kerala. Palakkad district. The Nila slows near Shoranur.
Down its bank, past a gate, past a garden — a farm that isn’t quite a farm.

Pandi curry isn’t cooked to impress. It’s cooked to welcome.

Pork, slow-darkened with kachampuli — the wild Garcinia vinegar of Coorg’s forests — until the fat and the spice paste become one thing, richer than either.

Kodavas make it for weddings. For harvests. For someone come home after too long.

Mornings began by the river, before the rest of the estate was awake.

Coffee, understood as heritage rather than a bean. A kitchen where nothing is measured and everything is remembered. A table that asked nothing of the strangers sitting down at it — only that they eat.

By the time the toast was made, no one at the table was still a stranger.
