There’s something inherently graceful about a saree — the way it flows, drapes, and tells a story of elegance with every pleat. Recently, I had the pleasure of styling myself in a Bishnupuri silk saree, and it turned out to be an ensemble close to my heart — a perfect blend of tradition, contrast, and personal flair. The base of my look was a Bishnupuri silk saree in a calming sky blue, elevated by a striking orange and maroon border. What I love about Bishnupuri silk is its natural sheen and feather-light feel — it’s luxurious without being overwhelming, making it perfect for long wear at events or celebrations.
The pallu carried a simple stitched design, letting the fabric and colors do the talking. It whispered elegance rather than shouting it — and that’s exactly the energy I was going for.
To keep the styling cohesive but festive, I opted for heavy dangler earrings — ornate, detailed, and full of character.
For makeup, I leaned into a heavy eye look — smokey tones with a touch of shimmer to add depth. To balance out the drama, I kept the lips n**e, letting the eyes and saree remain the focal points.
To ground the look with traditional touches, I paired it with a classic pair of juttis — comfortable, chic, and always saree-friendly.
And for that one unique accessory? A Kashmiri-designed handbag, intricately embroidered and bursting with craftsmanship.
