Dramatic visuals have emerged from Nepal showing a sudden flash flood surging through the Bhote Koshi River, reportedly originating from the Tibet side of the border. The deluge has damaged villages, roads, bridges, and hydropower infrastructure along its path.

Authorities issued urgent warnings to downstream communities as water levels rose sharply within a short span. The exact trigger is still being investigated, with officials examining possible causes including heavy rainfall, rapid snowmelt, or a glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF) originating in Tibet.

Flash floods in mountainous terrain like this can escalate within minutes, giving residents little to no time to react. Nepal’s flash floods have caused widespread destruction in Rasuwa and nearby areas, damaging roads, bridges, homes and hydropower projects. The Nepal Tourism Board says 384 travellers are unaccounted for, including 291 foreigners and 93 Nepali nationals, with 105 Indians among the missing. The casualty count is still changing as rescue operations continue.

Videos also show people risking their lives to collect goods swept away by the floods, including gas cylinders, raising concerns amid the ongoing disaster.

Fire brigade vehicle used to wash BJP MLA's private car in Singrauli, sparks outrage

A video circulating online allegedly shows a government fire brigade vehicle being used to wash a private Innova belonging to BJP MLA Ramniwas Shah outside his official residence in Bilounji, Singrauli district, Madhya Pradesh.

The clip, said to have been filmed on Tuesday, August 25, shows three fire brigade personnel operating a hose to spray water on the vehicle, reportedly owned by Shah, who represents the Singrauli Assembly constituency (80).

The footage has triggered questions online about the use of public resources and personnel for what appears to be a private purpose. However, it does not clarify who authorized the fire brigade's presence at the residence or the circumstances that led to it.

Woman Covers Boyfriend’s Car With 3,400 Lipstick Kiss Marks, MP Police Fines Him ₹5,500 A bizarre social media stunt in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, landed a young man in trouble after his car was covered with around 3,400 lipstick kiss marks. The video of the stunt reportedly went viral on Instagram, crossing 5.5 million views. According to reports, the woman spent nearly 3.5 hours putting lipstick kiss marks across the car as part of a “kissing car” trend. The owner, identified as Gwalior resident Aditya Sikarwar, recorded the entire stunt and shared it online. Gwalior Traffic Police reportedly traced the vehicle through the viral video and summoned Sikarwar for questioning. Police issued him a ₹5,500 challan under the Motor Vehicles Act and counselled him over the stunt. He was also reportedly instructed to personally wash the vehicle and remove all the lipstick marks. The unusual incident has since sparked reactions online, with many calling it a costly lesson in chasing viral fame.

A food safety inspection in Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh, has drawn attention after a sweet shop owner reportedly refused to eat a sweet from his own shop during a raid.

According to reports, Food Department officials suspected possible adulteration and asked the owner to eat a silver-leaf topped sweet as part of the inspection. He reportedly refused to do so, following which the sweets were asked to be disposed of in a dustbin.
