Vishwas Kumar Ramesh (Lone Survivor) to

• Everything happened right in front of my eyes — I still can’t believe I survived.
• For a moment, I was sure I was going to die.
• When I opened my eyes after the crash, I realized I was alive.
• I quickly unbuckled my seatbelt and started looking for a way to escape.
• Around 5–10 seconds after takeoff, the plane felt like it got stuck.
• Suddenly, the lights came on, and then the plane accelerated — and crashed.
• The side I was sitting on didn’t hit the hostel building. It landed on open, flat ground.
• A nearby door broke open, and when I saw the ground was level, I ran out through it.
• The other side of the aircraft had crashed into the building — I don’t think anyone there could have survived.
• I got out with just a minor burn on my left hand.
