The seasons have for long been closely associated with Indian art, music and Paavas. The monsoon has for ages inspired a wealth of poetry and music. Vocalist Shubha Mudgal has sourced a variety of verses on the theme of the monsoon that offer varied perceptions of Paavas or Varsha Ritu. These verses were rendered by in the khayal, thumri-dadra, kajri, jhoola formats that she has been studying for several decades.

This memorable evening marked the grand finalè of 100 Pipers Travel Gear presents Kolkata Baarish Season 2.

Team Kolkata Baarish closes the curtain on a celebration of the monsoons, creativity, connection and the soul of Kolkata. Thank you all! 🙏

Her verses brought the spirit of the monsoon alive leaving us all spellbound. It was an evening that reminded us of the quiet power of words and the emotions they carry.
