The Vedas were not written by a single author.
They are considered Apaurusheya ("not of human authorship"), meaning their wisdom was discovered by the Rishis through deep meditation and insight rather than invented. Hence, they are called Shruti—"that which is heard."
Later, Sage Vyasa is traditionally believed to have compiled this knowledge into the four Vedas: Rigveda, Samaveda, Yajurveda, and Atharvaveda.
In short: The Vedas were discovered by the Rishis and later organized by Vyasa 🕉🙏
