The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 information brochure has been released by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore. According to the schedule, the registration process is expected to begin on August 30. Candidates can apply for the examination through the official site of IISC GATE at gate2024.iisc.ac.in.

The exam will be held on February 3, 4, 10, and 11, 2024, and the admit card will be made available on January 3, 2024. The exam will be held in two sessions forenoon and afternoon. GATE 2024 will be held at several centres spread across more than 200 cities/towns in India only.

The deadline for applications, according to the official website, is September 29, 2023. The extended period will end on October 13, 2023.

There will be a total of 30 test papers. GATE 2024 test papers will be in English and entirely of the objective type. There are three different kinds of questions: multiple-choice (MCQ), multiple-selection (MSQ), and numerical answer type (NAT).In MCQs, only one out of four options is correct. In MSQs, one or more than one out of four options is/are correct; and for NAT questions, the answer must be keyed in using a virtual keypad. The candidates must use only the on-screen virtual calculator provided for their calculations.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India CA Exam 2024: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has issued a significant notification concerning exemptions from participating in the Inter and Final exams as part of the New Scheme of Education and Training for the ICAI CA May Exam 2024. The official notification can be accessed on the ICAI's official website at icai.org.

Under the New Scheme of Education and Training by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, the Institute's Council has made a decision to grant exemptions to current students from certain papers in the Intermediate and Final Examinations.

Regarding the Final Examination, the Council has opted to continue offering exemptions in a paper or papers to candidates who were previously granted exemptions under the Old/Existing Scheme. These exemptions will be applied to the corresponding paper(s) under the New Scheme, within the remaining chances of the exemption's validity.

Furthermore, the Council has determined that candidates who have passed in either one of the groups (but not both) of the final exam under the existing scheme will qualify for exemption in that specific group. However, they will still need to attempt and pass the remaining group or papers to successfully clear the Final Examination under the New Scheme.

For the Intermediate Examination, the Council has decided to extend exemptions in a paper or papers to candidates who were granted exemptions under the Old/Existing Scheme (based on having achieved a minimum of sixty percent marks in one or more papers within a Group or Groups, as per the existing exemption criteria). These exemptions will be applied to the corresponding paper(s) under the New Scheme, within the remaining chances of the exemption's validity.

In a significant move towards fostering cooperation, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (CA Maldives) have formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) marking a momentous occasion during the SAFA IFRS and ISAs Forum 2023 hosted by CA Maldives.

The MoU was signed, exemplifying the commitment of both institutions to enhancing the accounting profession’s knowledge and professional development. Both ICAI and CA Maldives are esteemed full members of the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA), with ICAI also hosts the Permanent Secretariat of SAFA.
