Coffe Flavoured Phirni Bowls
Coffee Phirni Bowls
Ingredients (serves 6–8 bowls)
* Full-fat milk – 1 litre
* Basmati rice – ¼ cup (50 g)
* Sugar – ⅓ to ½ cup (adjust to taste)
* Instant coffee powder – 2 tbsp
I recommend using instant coffee powder by *Keya Coffee Works*
* Warm milk – 2 tbsp (to dissolve coffee)
* Fresh cream – 3 tbsp (optional, for extra richness)
* Green cardamom powder – 1/4th tsp
I used *Keya Cardamom Seed Powder
Short Method
1. Soak rice for 30 minutes, drain, and grind into a slightly coarse paste with a little water.
2. Bring milk to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes.
3. Add the rice paste gradually, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
4. Cook on low heat for 20–25 minutes until thick and creamy.
5. Add sugar and cook for another 3–4 minutes.
6. Dissolve coffee powder in warm milk and mix into the phirni.
7. Add fresh cream and mix well. Cook for 1 minute more and switch off the heat.
8. Pour into earthen bowls or serving cups.
9. Chill for at least 3–4 hours.
10. Garnish with nuts, chocolate shavings, and a light dusting of coffee powder before serving.
