BHU R**e Case new Update.

Context:-
On 1 November 2023, a woman B.Tech student of IIT‑BHU (inside BHU, Varanasi) was allegedly abducted at night on campus by three men on a motorcycle, disrobed, filmed and gang‑r**ed at gunpoint.

An FIR was first filed for molestation, disrobing, threats and obscene filming, and later upgraded to add gang‑r**e charges under section 376D IPC after her detailed statement.

Police arrested three accused (Kunal Pandey, Anand alias Abhishek Chauhan, and Saksham Patel), who were sent to judicial custody while the case moved into trial.

The incident led to large student protests at BHU/IIT‑BHU demanding better security and strict action, and court proceedings on the gang‑r**e charges have continued through 2024–2025.
