A beautiful day that simply could not have gone better. The weather, the timing, the little detours along the way, everything seemed to have been planned just right for us.

I had been to Sikkim a few times already, but for some reason or another, I had never made it to Tsomgo Lake. Maybe the wait was long because I was meant to visit it with these three wonderful humans by my side.

Our Korean friends were brimming with joy to finally experience in person what they had only seen in photos online. Tashee got a taste of what it feels like to watch tourists go gaga over her own hometown. And I was wondering how Tashee came up with the idea of arranging a picnic at that altitude, completely unaware that over the last few months I had been wishing hard for a peaceful picnic with people who feel like home.

When I look back on this day, my heart is so full. I couldn’t have asked for more. 💙

We spent the last day of our Arunachal tour in Bomdila. It was quite a lazy day spent exploring the market and hanging out with the whole group.

We woke up early in the morning and walked to Bomdila monastery. The grounds were mostly empty and we enjoyed a few peaceful minutes under the warm sunshine.

The last day of a trip is always the hardest. I had grown attached to Arunachal. I still think about the moments I spent there and hope I get to go back again some day.

P.S- most of the photos here were clicked by my friends. I'm simply collecting the memories ❤️

We entered Thembang with the expectation that we would get to relax after hectic touring in Tawang. We were told that there was only the heritage village that was worth exploring, so we could spend the rest of the time within the comfort of our homestay.

We relaxed all evening, woke up early next day, and set off to take a walk around the heritage village while the others were still fast asleep.

We met the residents of the village, and they were kind enough to tell us the history and talk about the sacrifices made by their ancestors. The memories and scars of the battle are still etched into every brick that makes up Thembang.

It was a day of reflection rather than excitement. The more we travel, the more we realise how history shapes a culture and how important it is to pause, notice the patterns, and prevent tragedy from striking again.

From Shergaon to Dirang, every part of the journey was filled with laughter, photo breaks, and new memories with the group. We stopped at Mandala Top and Sangti Valley, where the views took us by surprise. You could have convinced me that some talented artist was at work here.

Just as dusk settled, we reached Dirang Boutique Cottages, a cluster of pretty, comfortable cottages beside the river. Stories were exchanged over chai and snacks. A small Diwali celebration, thanks to the cooperation of the welcoming homestay team, made the day even more special. That night, I fell asleep to the gentle sound of the river outside.

The next morning greeted us with bright sunlight and fresh mountain air, so we wandered to the riverside, taking it all in. Within a few hours, we were supposed to set out for the next destination. I was thankful for the time I got to spend in Dirang.

Dirang truly is a gem in Arunachal Pradesh. If you’re planning an itinerary here, make sure it’s on your list. I'm certain it will greet you with the same grace and stillness as it did for us.

First day in Arunachal Pradesh! We settled into Shergaon for the night. It was a perfect, peaceful stop to recharge.

The quiet charm of this little haven was just what we needed to rest up and get ready for the adventures waiting ahead.

Sometimes, the best part of a trip is finding the right moments to pause and soak it all in. Can’t wait to share more from this incredible trip!
