A grand seminar was organised today at Rest House Chawalgam, Kulgam, to commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution and a towering figure in India’s social justice movement.
The seminar was graced by the presence of prominent BJP leaders including:
• Shri Altaf Thakur Ji, BJP Spokesperson for Kashmir, who delivered an impactful address on Dr. Ambedkar’s vision for modern India and the party’s commitment to those ideals.
• Shri Abid Hussain Khan Ji, Waqf Board ex Member, Senior Leader and former District President, who reflected on the transformation of BJP in Kulgam and shared insights from his decades of service.
• Shri Farooq Ahmad Ashmuji Ji, BJP District President Kulgam, who emphasised the importance of grassroots strengthening and unity among party workers.
The event saw participation from key BJP functionaries and karyakartas including:

• Majid Hakeem (Constituency President, Kulgam)
• Sheeraz Malik (Constituency President, DH Pora)
• Mohd Yousuf Matoo (Constituency President, Devsar)
• Mubarak Khanday, noted educationist running three private colleges in Kashmir

Also acknowledged were the tireless efforts of OBC Morcha leaders, Mahila Morcha members, and youth representatives across the district.
The event was anchored by IqbalYousuf, BJP Media Incharge D H Pora Kulgam, who coordinated the programme and shared his thoughts on Ambedkar Ji’s lifelong struggle for justice and empowerment.
This seminar served as a reminder that the ideals of Babasaheb Ambedkar continue to guide the vision of BJP in Kashmir — a vision rooted in equality, empowerment, and inclusive progress.
