: The High Court has ordered the father of two adult sisters(Anshu and Diya) and the Uttar Pradesh to jointly pay ₹25 lakh compensation after finding that the women were illegally confin*d at their parental home following their decision to convert from Hinduism to Islam.

Their own father then locked them up like crimin@ls, simply because they ch*se Islam over Hinduism.

The Court exposed this illegal conf*nement, restored their liberty, and ordered the father & UP Government to jointly pay ₹25 LAKH compensation.
