Police-Public Interaction Meeting Held at Kalaroos; Focus on Public Grievances and Drug-Free Society
Kalaroos, June 11: A "Thana Diwas" programme was organized by Kupwara Police at Police Post Kalaroos with the aim of strengthening police-public relations, addressing public grievances, and promoting mutual trust and cooperation.
The programme was chaired by DySP Headquarters Kupwara, Mr. Mubashir, and witnessed the participation of a large number of political, social, and public representatives, along with respected citizens from Kalaroos and adjoining areas.
Among those present were Police Post Incharge Kalaroos, Mr. Mohammad Sultan, and other police officers. During the interaction, participants highlighted various local issues, public concerns, and matters related to law and order. They also shared suggestions for improving public services and enhancing coordination between the police and the community.
Addressing the gathering, DySP Mubashir assured the participants that the police remain committed to resolving public grievances and delivering better services to the people. He stated that programmes such as Thana Diwas play a vital role in bridging the gap between the police and the public and in fostering a spirit of cooperation and understanding.
During the meeting, the DySP also emphasized the importance of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign). He urged residents to keep a close watch on the youth in their localities and to promptly report any individuals involved in drug-related activities. He stressed that community participation is essential in combating drug abuse and safeguarding the future of younger generations.
At the conclusion of the programme, public representatives appreciated the initiative taken by the police and called for the regular organization of such interaction programmes to further strengthen public confidence and community policing efforts.

Lolab: Kashmir's Forgotten Paradise Awaiting Its Renaissance

There are places that attract tourists, and there are places that touch the soul. Lolab Valley belongs to the latter. Nestled in the lap of the majestic Himalayas in North Kashmir's Kupwara district, Lolab is not merely a destination; it is an experience woven from nature, history, culture, and human resilience.

For decades, visitors, poets, and travelers have described Lolab as one of the most beautiful valleys of Kashmir. Its dense forests, sparkling streams, lush meadows, and sprawling orchards create a landscape that appears untouched by time. Yet despite its immense beauty and potential, Lolab remains one of Kashmir's most underexplored treasures.

The valley is home to numerous pictures que villages, each carrying its own history and cultural identity. From Sogam and Chandigam to Warnow, Kalaroos, Diver, and Anderbugh, every settlement contributes to the rich social fabric of the region. The people of Lolab have preserved traditions of hospitality, hard work, and community spirit that continue to define the valley's character.

Lolab's significance extends far beyond its natural beauty. The valley has produced distinguished scholars, civil servants, educators, and public representatives who have left a lasting impact on society. The birthplace of renowned Islamic scholar Allama Anwar Shah Kashmiri, Lolab has long been a center of intellectual and spiritual excellence. It has also produced individuals who have excelled in administration, education, and public service, proving that remote geography is never a barrier to greatness.

Yet the story of Lolab today is one of both opportunity and challenge. While the valley possesses immense tourism potential, infrastructure development has not kept pace with its promise. Better roads, sustainable tourism facilities, digital connectivity, and promotion of local handicrafts could transform the region into
a major economic hub. Tourism should not merely bring visitors; it should create livelihoods, empower youth, and preserve the environment.

The future of Lolab lies in balancing development with conservation. Its forests, springs, and landscapes are not just tourist attractions; they are assets that must be protected for future generations. Unplanned growth can damage what makes the valley unique. Sustainable tourism, community participation, and responsible governance must therefore become the pillars of progress.

In an era when travelers increasingly seek authentic experiences away from overcrowded destinations, Lolab has everything required to emerge as a leading attraction on Kashmir's tourism map. What it needs is attention, investment, and a collective vision.

Lolab is not a forgotten corner of Kashmir. It is a reminder that some of the world's greatest treasures are hidden in silence, waiting to be discovered.

If Kashmir is known as Paradise on Earth, then Lolab is one of its most precious and least explored gardens.

Khan Sir, Influence, and the Responsibility of Education

Rayees Jamil

The story of Khan Sir is, in many ways, the story of modern education in India. Through digital platforms and affordable teaching methods, he has reached millions of students, particularly those preparing for competitive examinations. His ability to simplify complex topics and connect with learners from diverse backgrounds has earned him widespread recognition.

However, public influence comes with public responsibility.

In recent weeks, Khan Sir has become the subject of legal and public controversies. Reports of court proceedings, public disputes, and incidents connected to his coaching institute have generated significant debate across social media and news platforms. As these matters remain under legal and administrative consideration, it is important to avoid premature judgments and allow due process to take its course.

Beyond the headlines, the episode offers an opportunity to reflect on a broader issue: the role of educators in a rapidly changing information age.

The rise of online education has transformed learning in India. Teachers are no longer confined to classrooms; they now communicate with audiences that often exceed the population of entire cities. This unprecedented reach has democratized education, making quality learning accessible to students who may otherwise have been left behind. Yet it has also placed educators in positions of immense influence.

When a teacher speaks, students listen. When a teacher becomes a public personality, society listens as well. Words spoken before millions carry weight. Therefore, educators must exercise accuracy, restraint, and responsibility in public discourse. Freedom of expression remains a cornerstone of democracy, but influence must be accompanied by accountability.

At the same time, responsibility does not rest solely with teachers. Students and followers must cultivate critical thinking rather than unquestioning loyalty. Education is not the art of producing followers; it is the process of nurturing independent minds capable of analysis and reasoned judgment.

The media and social media users also have an important role to play. In an era where short clips and selective excerpts can travel faster than facts, context often becomes the first casualty. Responsible journalism and responsible consumption of information are essential to maintaining a healthy public discourse. Opinions should be formed on verified facts rather than viral narratives.

For students preparing for examinations such as JKSSB, JKPSC, NEET, JEE, and other competitive tests, this moment offers a valuable lesson. Success in education depends not on admiration for personalities but on dedication to learning, discipline, and independent thought. Great teachers can inspire us, but no individual should replace our ability to think critically.

History rarely remembers educators for the controversies that surround them. It remembers them for the knowledge they shared, the opportunities they created, and the minds they inspired. Likewise, students are remembered not for whom they followed, but for what they learned and how they applied that learning in service of society.

The lesson, therefore, extends beyond any one individual. In a democratic and educated society, teachers must lead with responsibility, media must report with fairness, institutions must uphold justice, and citizens must think critically. Only then can education fulfill its true purpose—not merely to inform, but to enlighten.

The true measure of influence is not the number of followers one gathers, but the number of minds one empowers to think independently.

For JKSSB aspirants, remember these three most important facts:

1. 1 Marla = 272.25 sq ft
2. 1 Kanal = 20 Marlas
3. 8 Kanals = 1 Acre ✔️

These are frequently asked in revenue, patwari, and general awareness examinations.

Reading in a Busy World

Time or attention? Which one are we really losing?

People often say they are too busy to read. But while life is hectic, many hours still disappear on scrolling and distractions.

Reading strengthens thinking, improves communication, and builds awareness. Yet quick content and short videos are replacing deep reading habits.

The good news is that reading does not require hours. Even ten minutes a day can make a difference.

Maybe the problem is not lack of time — maybe it is lack of focus.
