Rashid Nizami, a towering figure in Kashmir’s contemporary stage and media scene, finally received well-deserved recognition at the two-day theatre seminar organized by the Young Dramatist Society. He was felicitated for his outstanding contributions to radio, television, and theatre, as well as for his brilliance in hosting events and conducting interviews.
A stalwart in the revival of the state’s culture and art, Nizami has long been the most recognized face of the contemporary stage in Kashmir.
Despite his immense influence, it is a rare occasion when his efforts are acknowledged, as he is frequently overlooked for awards and recognition by both the non- governmental and governmental institutions.
This seminar marked a significant moment, celebrating a legacy that has too often been ignored.
