Delhi Police Grants Permission for CJP Protest at Jantar Mantar

New Delhi, June 6: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), a youth-led movement that has gained significant attention on social media, has received permission from Delhi Police to hold its protest at Jantar Mantar today. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke arrived in Delhi from the United States and appealed to supporters to gather directly at Jantar Mantar while maintaining peace and discipline.

The protest is focused on issues related to competitive examinations, education reforms, and alleged irregularities in the examination system. Protesters are demanding accountability and reforms in the education sector. Security arrangements have been strengthened around Jantar Mantar as authorities expect participants from different parts of the country.

Ahead of the demonstration, CJP leaders urged supporters to carry the national flag and books as symbols of education and peaceful democratic participation. Organizers have repeatedly called for a non-violent protest and cooperation with law enforcement agencies.

The protest marks one of the first major on-ground demonstrations by the movement, which has attracted widespread attention among students and young people across India.

Trust Deficit in Ladakh: Sonam Wangchuk says no date fixed for next round of talks with Centre

Leh, Ladakh | April 13, 2026
Ladakh-based environmentalist and innovator Sonam Wangchuk has expressed concern over a growing “trust deficit” between the people of Ladakh and the central government, stating that no date has yet been announced for the next round of discussions.

Speaking on the ongoing issues related to Ladakh’s demands, Wangchuk highlighted that despite earlier dialogues, there has been a lack of clarity and progress from the government’s side. He emphasized that the people of Ladakh are waiting for concrete steps and meaningful engagement rather than delays.

The talks between Ladakhi representatives and the Centre were expected to address key concerns, including constitutional safeguards, protection of land and jobs, and greater autonomy. However, with no official schedule for the next meeting, uncertainty continues to grow among locals.

Wangchuk urged the government to act promptly and rebuild trust through transparent communication and timely action. He also called upon the people to remain united and continue peaceful efforts to ensure that Ladakh’s voice is heard at the national level.

Further updates are awaited as both sides look toward resuming dialogue.

Tourism Bodies Unite, Tsetan Angchuk Appointed LTTA Chairperson for Two Years

Leh, Ladakh | 20 March 2026

In a significant development for Ladakh’s tourism sector, the region’s major tourism bodies came together in a joint meeting on Thursday to reaffirm unity, coordination, and collective action for the sustainable growth of tourism in Ladakh.

The meeting was attended by key stakeholders, including the All Ladakh Hotel and Guest House Association (ALHAGHA), All Ladakh Adventure and Tour Operators Association (ALATOA), All Ladakh Taxi Operators Cooperative Ltd, Ladakh Maxi Cab Cooperative Society Ltd, and Ladakh Bike Rental Cooperative Ltd.

During the meeting, all associations unanimously agreed to appoint Mr. Tsetan Angchuk as the Chairperson of the Ladakh Travel Trade Alliance (LTTA) for a period of two years from today.

The decision reflects a joint commitment by Ladakh’s tourism stakeholders to move forward with unity and a common vision at a time when the sector is facing both internal transitions and external challenges. The associations stressed that strong coordination and mutual trust are essential to protect livelihoods, ensure fair practices, and strengthen Ladakh’s position as a responsible and resilient tourism destination.

According to the joint understanding, the leadership move aims to improve coordination among tourism bodies, present a united voice before the government and policy-making institutions, promote sustainable and responsible tourism practices, and support the long-term revival and growth of Ladakh’s tourism economy.

The associations also reaffirmed that the Ladakh Travel Trade Alliance will continue to serve as an important platform to align efforts, address concerns, and chart a progressive path for the tourism industry in the region.

With this collective decision, all participating bodies have pledged to work in close cooperation, set aside differences, and prioritize the larger interest of Ladakh’s tourism sector and the communities that depend on it.

📰 Global Call for Peace: UN Chief Warns of Escalation in Middle East

Leh | Ladakh News | March 19

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has issued a renewed and urgent appeal for an immediate halt to the escalating conflict in the Middle East, warning that the situation is rapidly deteriorating and risks expanding into a wider regional crisis.

In his latest statement, Guterres emphasized that continued military escalation is intensifying humanitarian suffering, with civilians—especially women and children—bearing the brunt of the violence. He warned that ongoing attacks, displacement, and destruction of essential infrastructure are pushing the region deeper into instability.

Delivering a strong message to global leaders, he said:
“It’s time for the force of the law to prevail over the law of the force. It’s time for diplomacy to prevail over war.”

The UN chief highlighted several urgent concerns:

Humanitarian Crisis: Millions of civilians are facing shortages of food, water, medical supplies, and shelter as aid access remains severely restricted.

Rising Civilian Casualties: Increasing airstrikes and ground operations are leading to heavy loss of life, raising alarm across international human rights organizations.

Risk of Regional Spillover: Guterres warned that continued escalation could draw in neighboring countries, further destabilizing the Middle East.

He also called for:

Immediate ceasefire and de-escalation
Full respect for international humanitarian law
Unhindered humanitarian aid access
Renewed diplomatic dialogue to achieve a long-term political solution

The United Nations has repeatedly stressed that there is no military solution to the conflict and that only sustained diplomacy can bring lasting peace.

As tensions continue to rise, governments, global organizations, and peace advocates across the world are intensifying calls for restraint and immediate action to protect innocent lives and restore stability.

📰 LEH AWAITS ITS SON

Leh stands still in anticipation, yet its heart beats louder than ever.

The people of Ladakh, from the bustling streets of Leh to the quiet villages of Nubra, Changthang, and Kargil, are united in spirit as they await the return of their son, Sonam Wangchuk. After months of detention, his homecoming is not just a personal return—it is a moment of collective emotion, resilience, and pride for an entire region.

For many, Sonam Wangchuk is more than an innovator or educationist—he is a voice of conscience, a symbol of Ladakh’s aspirations, and a reminder that standing for one’s land, environment, and identity comes with both courage and sacrifice.

Over the past months, his absence was deeply felt. Yet, in that silence, Ladakh spoke louder—through peaceful gatherings, prayers, and unwavering solidarity. People held onto hope, believing that truth and justice would prevail.

Today, that hope turns into anticipation.

As the mountains of Ladakh prepare to echo with chants of welcome, there is a sense that this moment belongs not only to one individual, but to every Ladakhi who believes in dialogue, dignity, and the future of their homeland.

His return is not the end of a struggle—it is the beginning of a renewed chapter. A chapter where voices will continue to seek justice, where conversations must replace silence, and where the dreams of Ladakh’s people remain firmly alive.

At the same time, the people of Ladakh continue to call for justice and dialogue. We strongly appeal to the administration and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to immediately release Snamla Dorje Nurboo and Deldan Namgyal, and to begin meaningful dialogue without any further delay, in the interest of peace and stability in the region.

Leh awaits—not just with open arms, but with deep respect and pride.

Welcome home, Sonam Wangchuk. Ladakh stands with you—today and always.
