Hon’ble MLA Aalo West, Shri Topin Ete, Calls on Newly Elected GWS President Er. Toli Basar

Aalo, 23 June 2025:
Hon’ble MLA of 31-Aalo East Assembly Constituency, Shri Topin Ete, today paid a courtesy visit to Er. Toli Basar, the newly elected President of the Galo Welfare Society (GWS) for the 2025–2028 tenure, at his private residence.

During the meeting, Shri Ete extended warm congratulations and best wishes to Er. Basar on assuming the mantle of leadership at a crucial time for the Galo community. He expressed confidence in the new president’s vision, commitment, and ability to unify and steer the society toward inclusive growth and cultural resurgence.

Shri Ete remarked, “The Galo community today stands at the intersection of tradition and transformation. Under the capable leadership of Er. Toli Basar ji, we are optimistic about a future rooted in unity, identity, and progress.”

The interaction was marked by mutual discussions on issues pertaining to youth empowerment, preservation of indigenous values, and the roadmap for strengthening GWS across all fronts.

The visit concluded on a positive note, signaling a renewed spirit of collaboration and support for the collective aspirations of the Galo society.

🌱 Being Responsible Celebrates World Environment Day with 'Each One Tree One' Initiative 🌿

On the occasion of World Environment Day (June 5th), Being Responsible, an independent organization co-founded by Monya Bame, successfully carried out a green initiative under the banner 'Each One Tree One' in Likabali.

As part of the campaign, our dedicated team distributed over 300 tree saplings to members of the public, encouraging individuals to plant and nurture at least one tree, thereby promoting greenery and combating air pollution in the region.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Shri Bajum Taba, DFO Likabali Division, and Er. Binga Gara, EE, PHE & WS Dept. Likabali Division, for their invaluable support. We sincerely wish them continued good health and success.

We also thank Mr. Mari Basar for providing the canopy tent, the BJP team of Lower Siang, public leaders, and every individual who contributed to the event’s success.

Together, with every sapling planted, we take a step towards a cleaner, greener future. 🌍💚
