The passing of Late Gogiam Gumja (GB) of Lejirijo, Yekar Village, has cast a deep sense of sorrow across Upper Subansiri District.
A highly respected traditional priest and community elder, he served as the priest of the Si-Donyi Festival (Hilo) on nine occasions ( 9th), as per the sources, which made him the longest-serving priest of the Si-Donyi Hilo Festival of all time in the history of the Tagin Community.

Known for his wisdom, guidance, and selfless service, Late Gogiam Gumja inspired and mentored generations through his dedication to tradition and community welfare.

His remarkable legacy and lifelong commitment to the people's customs will be remembered with profound respect.
Heartfelt condolences are extended to the bereaved family, relatives, and the entire Tagin community during this difficult time.

The Arunachal Frontier Highway Development Committee (AFHDC), Upper Subansiri Unit, today conducted a ground inspection along with the Deputy Commissioner of Daporijo and the Superintendent of Police, Daporijo, regarding the pending issues related to the Frontier Highway project. Following the inspection, the committee submitted a final memorandum in the form of a protest to the Deputy Commissioner, urging immediate legal action against the concerned company for failing to comply with the commitments made during the previous meeting. The committee pointed out that the agreed deadline expired on 30 July 2026, and stressed that further delay would not be acceptable.
