It is a Japanese rhinoceros beetle. It is so called because of itz rhino's shape as it have horns like rhinocerous particularly in males beetle. A hungry rhinocerous beetle particulary the coconut rhinocerous beetle is characterized by its destructive feeding habits on palm trees. These beetles especially the males, possess a prominent horn on their heads, which they use to bore into the developing leaves and stems of palms. All rhinocerous beetles are berbivorous. The adults feed on fruit, nectar, and sap. They also feed like ripen banana, mango, guava jackfruit etc. Usually they depend on trees or plants for their food to survive.
