In a first of its kind rulings in history, a Pakistan court outlawed the practice of the h***n and the two-finger virginity test on female r**e victims on Monday. The order was passed by the Lahore High Court Judge Ayesha Mallik, who termed the practice as “humiliating for women” and “unfruitful for forensic as well”.

Human right activists have long demanded to desist the “two-finger” test. The World Health Organization calls the practice as a human rights violation and has no association with science whatsoever.
Inspecting a woman’s h***n by inserting two fingers into her va**na to determine whether or not she is a virgin is a common practice that is followed globally in many countries even today. Pakistan is one such country.

On December 24th 2020, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court had ordered all the health professionals of Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, and Union Territory of Ladakh to strictly discontinue from performing the two-finger virginity test on r**e victims.
In January, last year, the Gujarat High Court said that the "archaic and outdated" practice of two-finger test that is conducted to determine the virginity of a r**e victim is unconstitutional.

Setback for the Thackeray government.

The Bombay High Court has temporarily paused the construction of a metro car shed in 102 acres of land in Mumbai's Kanjurmarg.

The Maharashtra government and the centre are fighting over the ownership of this land. The Thackeray government says state owns the land, but the centre asserts that it belongs to its salt department.
