💔 Two uncomfortable thoughts I can’t shake about the Minneapolis shooting 🇺🇸
This is just my personal take based on what’s publicly available so far — not a verdict, not a defense of anyone.
First: The woman who died made a series of dangerous choices. From the footage circulating, she appeared to insert herself into a volatile situation and acted in a way that increased the risk for everyone involved, including herself. That doesn’t mean she deserved to die — it means the situation was already spiraling.
Second: The ICE agent may have reacted too fast. Law enforcement is trained for high-stress moments, but pulling the trigger is the absolute last step. Based on the limited video available, it’s hard to see an immediate threat at the exact moment the shot was fired. Full body-cam footage matters here 👀 — context matters.
What’s frustrating is how quickly both sides rushed to extremes:
🔵 Some on the left are already calling this an ex*****on.
🔴 Some on the right are insisting it was a clear attempt to kill an agent.
I don’t think either version fully reflects reality.
Two things can be true at once: • Someone can act recklessly
• And law enforcement can still escalate too quickly
If politics keeps driving the reaction instead of de-escalation, Minneapolis risks sliding into chaos again — something this country has seen before and should be trying hard to avoid 🕊️
Pulling back operations temporarily and leaders clearly calling for calm and nonviolence would help lower the temperature. I’m not optimistic that either will happen, and that’s what worries me most.
I know this opinion won’t make me popular on either side — but sometimes the truth sits uncomfortably in the middle.
