This special unveiling symbolizes a powerful confluence of public service, cultural pride, and cinematic brilliance. The elegant trophy stands as a tribute to India’s vibrant film industry and the enduring legacy of Dadasaheb Phalke—the father of Indian cinema.

During their meeting, Governor Dattatreya and Abhishek Mishra held a profound discussion on cinema’s transformative potential as a vehicle for cultural diplomacy, tourism promotion, and heritage preservation. The dialogue reflected a shared vision to leverage the cinematic arts as a bridge between tradition and modern storytelling, especially among youth.

BJP National Secretary & Maharashtra Environment Minister Pankaja Munde Applauds DPIFF’s Green Initiative with the Indian Army Army to launch a large-scale Tree Plantation Drive in Thane — a powerful step towards a greener India.

“As an advocate for sustainability, it is inspiring to see meaningful efforts like these where the film fraternity and armed forces unite for a cause bigger than all of us – our environment,” said Minister Munde. “This is more than a plantation drive. It’s a pledge for the future.”

The event was led by DPIFF CEO Abhishek Mishra, Col Vivek Singh Bhadouria, Lt. Harit Khatana, Purnima Potkar, Adv. Shweta A., and dedicated Indian Army personnel. Together, they planted the seeds for tomorrow — part of DPIFF’s mission to plant 10,000 trees across the nation.
