Happy Mother’s Day ..To the moms, single moms, pet moms, aunties, godmothers, nurturers, protectors and the women who mother in ways the world doesn’t always see.
Motherhood isn’t one shape. It’s love, responsibility, softness, strength & showing up.
Today, I feel especially grateful for the honour of being Nivi’s mom. And somewhere up in the heavens, I thank the Creator for choosing my mother to be my soul partner in this lifetime.

Aging like I learned the lesson the first time

I don’t really know how to celebrate Valentine’s Day anymore.
For the longest time.. it felt like a day meant to prove something. To show extra love & to post the right pictures, to make it all look perfect.. & somewhere along the way, I started asking myself… if love needs one special day to be shown, then what are the other 364 days for?

Post separation, days like these can feel different. A little quieter but heavier & very confusing. I am learning to rebuild meaning where there used to be routine. But I’m slowly understanding something…love didn’t really leave my life. It just changed shape…

Today, my Valentine is the little hand that reaches for mine without asking. The voice that calls me “mumma” like I’m her whole world. Love is also my mother ..whose presence I’m finding the most peace and stability in..

Nivi & my mother ..are my reminders.. that love isn’t in grand gestures once a year. It’s in packed lunches, bedtime stories, tight hugs.. mom’s morning prayers and her “I made your fav meal“ words.. or the calls I get when I step out asking me if I’m safe …basically just showing up even on the days mom and I are tired..

Special days don’t have to look the same anymore. They can be simpler and honest …And maybe that’s what healing looks like… so I hope you all find love where you are with the soul who needs you the most.. (yes, pet parents , you too!)
