Marriott International has opened its first luxury JW Marriott resort in India. The JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa is located at the hill station of Mussoorie, in the foothills of the Himalayas. All 115 rooms and suites feature their own private balconies overlooking the surrounding hills and gardens.

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has created a new ministry, Aayush, to propagate wellness and related spheres in the country.
Previously a department in the Health Ministry, the new ministry will be headed by Shripad Naik and and will supervise the Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy.

SRI International, the non-profit research partner of the released fresh research that showed that the spa industry grew 58% from 2007- 2013, reaching a value of $94 billion, with a 47% growth in spa locations. Wellness Tourism, meanwhile, also expanded to $494 billion in revenues, rising 12.5% from 2012-2013.
The research also delved into the thermal/mineral springs market for the first time stating that the sector has a $50 billion market, spanning 26,847 properties.

Y-40 The Deep Joy designed by Emanuele Boaretto and located in Montegrotto Terme, Italy, starts as a 21m by 18m pool at the surface and narrows down into a well-like structure.
Used for diving practice and scuba training, the pool does not require wetsuits as its temperature is maintained at 32-34°C.
