An unlikely combo, would be putting it mildly!! But hey, some crazy things work out beautifully! Thanks to Francis Pettican at , we were introduced to a 22 year old Australian singer-songwriter, Holly Riva and her Calcutta connection. We, in turn, introduced her to percussion maestro Bickram Ghosh and the resultant song, ‘Chase Like An Animal’ is probably the start of something very exciting. Holly is an incredible vocalist who is also a phenomenal dancer, which is why she’s had a fair amount of success on the Australian dance charts, as well as breaking into the UK with her last single, ‘So Vanilla’.
More exciting stuff with India to come soon which is only to be expected when she’s managed by a legend like Bill Kimber and is working with Bickram, one of the most prolific artistes of our times!

As representatives of copyrights, we are as accommodating of users as possible. They have low budgets and urgent deadlines that we jump through hoops to try and help them meet.
Once the music is used, they stop responding to calls and emails to get the paperwork signed and make the payment. Suddenly their corporate process becomes important and we are told off when we ask them to hurry things up.
Obviously they have no idea that usage of music without the appropriate license is a criminal offence but the fact also is that we can’t be looking to get arrest warrants against Managing Directors of large corporations who perhaps have no clue about the unprofessional behaviour of their employees.
That’s been one of my reasons for pressing for the reinstatement of the Copyright Board so we can address issues like this quickly. One fears that cases in commercial high courts will be adjudicated only after years, encouraging violators to keep doing this.
Any other course of redressal in these situations?
