Tragedy Strikes: Kabaddi star Brijesh Solanki lost his life to rabies after a light bite from a rescued puppy went untreated—highlighting the critical importance of timely vaccination and awareness.



Sequence of Events.

March 2025
Brijesh, a 22‑year‑old state‑level Kabaddi gold medallist from Farana village (Bulandshahr, UP), rescues a stray puppy from a drain. During the rescue, the puppy lightly bites his right hand .He believes it’s just a minor scratch and does not receive post‑exposure rabies vaccination.

June 26, 2025
During a practice session, Brijesh complains of numbness in his fingers (the same hand).He visits the district hospital in Bulandshahr and is later advised to go to Noida as his condition deteriorates .

June 26–27, 2025
He begins showing classic rabies symptoms: severe pain, hydrophobia (fear of water), aversion to air, restlessness, and agony .The family claims he was denied care at government hospitals in Khurja, Aligarh, and even Delhi; only in Noida do doctors recognize suspected rabies .

Saturday, June 28, 2025
Brijesh passes away from rabies while being taken to a faith healer in Mathura .

Sunday, July 1, 2025
Kabaddi community grief spreads as news—and a distressing video—surfacing of his final moments circulate online .

A hematoma in dogs is a localized collection of blood outside blood vessels, usually caused by trauma or injury. It commonly occurs in the ears (aural hematoma) but can also develop in other body parts, such as the skin, muscles, or internal organs.
□Causes:
●Ear shaking or scratching (often due to infections, allergies, or parasites)
●Trauma (e.g., bites, accidents)
●Surgery or injection-related bleeding
●Clotting disorders
□Symptoms:
●Swelling or lump under the skin
●Pain and discomfort
●Warmth and redness
●Head shaking (for ear hematomas)
□Treatment:
●Small hematomas may resolve on their own with monitoring.
●Drainage (aspiration) can be done but may refill.
●Surgical correction is often recommended for larger or recurring cases.
●Underlying causes (e.g., infections, allergies) must be treated.

Chapter 2-Gouri’s Second Chance:

The afternoon sun bathed the village in golden hues as I was on my duty. The air was filled with the scent of fresh hay, and the distant mooing of cows blended with the gentle rustling of leaves.

Suddenly, a loud commotion erupted near the open fields. Rushing towards the noise, I saw a group of villagers gathered around something. Pushing through the crowd, my heart sank at the sight before me—a brown cow, her body covered in dust and blood, lay groaning on the ground.

"It's Gouri," an elderly farmer whispered, concern etched on his face. "She was caught in a bullfight. One of the bulls gored her badly."

Without wasting a second, I knelt beside her. Gouri's breathing was heavy, her large eyes filled with pain. Her left front part of thorax had a deep gash, and blood trickled from the wound. The villagers looked on, their faces anxious.

"I'm a veterinarian" "But let's not waste time. She needs help."

A few men helped me bring water while I took out my emergency medical kit. I carefully cleaned the wound, wincing as Gouri let out a pained grunt. "Easy, girl," I murmured soothingly. I applied antiseptic, then wrapped a clean bandage around her leg to stop the bleeding.

"She needs rest," I told the villagers. "And fresh fodder. I'll check on her every day until she heals."

Days passed, and Gouri slowly regained her strength. The wound began to heal, and her eyes, once clouded with pain, now gleamed with gratitude. Each morning, I visited her, changing her bandages and ensuring she had proper food and care. The villagers, touched by her resilience, showered her with love.

One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, I found Gouri standing on all fours, her tail swishing as she chewed on fresh grass. As I approached, she looked up, then did something unexpected—she nudged my arm gently, as if thanking me.

A wave of warmth spread through me. Saving lives, whether human or animal, was a gift. And in Gouri’s eyes, I saw a silent promise—one of gratitude, trust, and an unbreakable bond between humans and the animals we share this world with.
