India is experiencing extreme heat, with temperatures exceeding 45°C across multiple regions. As cooling demand rises, buildings are seeing increased energy consumption and higher HVAC loads.

At scale developments like Infosys Hiranandani Campus, the challenge is even more critical, especially with complex roof systems such as hollow-core precast slabs that are more prone to heat ingress and joint leakages.

Dr. Fixit LEC Roof System offers an integrated solution that reduces heat ingress by up to 90% and lowers roof surface temperatures by up to 10°C, helping improve indoor comfort and overall energy efficiency.

By combining insulation and waterproofing into a single system, it ensures long-term thermal performance, simplified ex*****on, and reduced energy demand.

Proven in large-scale applications, Dr. Fixit LEC systems deliver consistent, efficient cooling performance in demanding environments.

At the recent Innovene conference in Singapore, a critical dialogue emerged regarding the future of urban density and environmental responsibility. The consensus was clear, our buildings are currently both the problem and the solution. While architecture has historically been a primary driver of carbon emissions, the way we design specifically how we approach the building facade today, will determine whether we meet our global climate goals tomorrow.

Architecture in India is shedding its static skin. It is moving away from being the 'decorated box' toward spaces that breathe and emote. Historically, acoustic panels were never a part of the vital architectural language. Today, however, these panels are treated as sculptural skins that define the character and spatial balance of high-end interiors. Whether it is for corporate or residential set ups, these surfaces are serving as functional art.

Façades today shape how a building is seen and remembered. In commercial projects, façade often creates the first impression and sets the tone for the entire space. Material choices like glass, metal, terracotta and even kinetic facade systems that add movement and character help define the building’s identity. Design has become more responsive. Features like shading systems, lighting and adaptable elements allow facades to respond to light, climate and usage. A well-designed facade balances openness with privacy and ensures the building feels comfortable. Façades today sit at the intersection of design, performance and ESG compliance. They are the most visible ROI of architectural intent.

I am observing a fundamental shift in the construction landscape, as we move beyond heavy, traditional ‘wet’ methods such as brick and mortar, towards Light Dry Building Solutions. Wall panels and facade systems in India are evolving towards high-performance, sustainability, and ‘smart building exteriors’ or ‘intelligent skins’. With cities growing taller and expanding urban infrastructure, the demand for lighter materials has grown since they help in reducing the overall weight on high-rise structures besides pacing up construction timelines. In addition, these modernised systems play an important role in sustainability, helping to keep the interiors cool in extreme climate conditions - decreasing electricity bills and saving huge amounts of water during the process of construction.

Panels and Façade systems play an important role in buildings and structures for improved aesthetics, energy efficiency, low maintenance and environment benefits. The use of façade systems and panels have transformed over the years towards high-performance, sustainable, and smart technologies that enhance energy efficiency. Especially in net zero buildings, façade systems are using materials like low-carbon cladding, recycled aluminium, and advanced thermal insulation.

North India’s real estate market is being shaped by three clear trends. First, infrastructure-led growth is creating new demand corridors across the region. Expressways, metro expansion, airports, and industrial hubs are unlocking locations that were previously considered peripheral. Second, the market is seeing a decisive shift towards organised and trusted developers, with customers placing greater importance on timely delivery, transparency, and long-term value. Third, there is growing demand for integrated developments where residential, retail, entertainment, and social infrastructure come together in one ecosystem.
