Space junk, 1962-2022
Space junk (space debris, space pollution, space waste, or space garbage) is defunct man-made objects in space (mainly in Earth orbit) that no longer serve a useful function.
And here is how its number has changed over the past 60 years.
*As of January 2021, the US Space Surveillance Network reported 21,901 artificial objects in orbit above the Earth, including 4,450 operational satellites. *जनवरी 2021 तक, यूएस स्पेस सर्विलांस नेटवर्क ने पृथ्वी के ऊपर कक्षा में 21,901 कृत्रिम वस्तुओं की सूचना दी, जिनमें 4,450 परिचालन उपग्रह भी शामिल थे। हालाँकि, ये केवल इतनी बड़ी वस्तुएँ हैं जिन्हें ट्रैक किया जा सकता है।
