PRODDATUR - AP: Doruvu Paul Jagan Babu - Assistant Chief Editor: The Movement for Peace and Justice (MPJ) has strongly condemned the alleged lathi-charge by Delhi Police on Muslim women journalists who were performing their professional duties in Delhi, calling it an attack on democracy, press freedom and women's dignity.

'Police acting in partisan manner'

MPJ said such incidents lend credence to serious allegations that Delhi Police, instead of acting impartially to uphold the law, is acting like goons of the BJP in favour of political forces belonging to the ruling party.

Lathi-charging women journalists who were discharging their professional responsibilities is unacceptable in a democratic country, the organization said, adding that suppressing questioning voices and dispersing protests with force, especially dealing harshly with women from minority communities, does not behove a democracy.

TIRUPATI - AP: Doruvu Paul Jagan Babu - Assistant Chief Editor: The proposed move to shut down the Mangampet Barytes mines near Railway Koduru in Tirupati district has triggered serious concern, with a fact-finding committee warning that the country's most crucial, non-renewable strategic mineral is being exported in bulk, jeopardizing national interest. The committee, which visited the mines on Thursday, demanded an immediate halt to the mine closure plan and a comprehensive probe into the 2025 bulk tender policy.

Fact-finding team constituted after roundtable

The committee was formed at a recent roundtable conference held in Vijayawada to study the condition of Mangampet mines, bulk tender policy, mineral reserves, exports, APMDC policies and reasons behind the mine closure proposal.

Rajahmundry - AP: Doruvu Paul Jagan Babu - Assistant Chief Editor: Senior advocate and former president of the Guntur Bar Association, Chengalasetti Venkata Satyanarayana, has been appointed as the Chairman of Legal Cell of the Rashtriya Praja Congress (RPC). The appointment was announced by Panguluri Buchibabu, in-charge for both Telugu states, as per the directions of RPC Chief Meda Srinivas.

'Legal profession facing job insecurity'

Speaking after his appointment, Chengalasetti said that the legal profession is losing job security and welfare has become a mirage. He alleged that governments are doing nothing for the future of advocates, despite the fact that their intellect and hard work generate crores of rupees in revenue for the government.

He noted that the contribution of every advocate plays a crucial role in the administration of the judiciary today, but it is painful that advocates and their families have no financial security or personal safety net from the government.

Opinion I Mumbai : The long-running debate over nepotism in Bollywood has once again returned to the spotlight after actor Arshad Warsi shared his candid views on the subject. While discussing the changing nature of the Hindi film industry, Warsi said that nepotism was not a major topic of conversation when he began his acting career. According to him, the issue gained widespread attention after Kangana Ranaut brought it into the mainstream conversation.
Speaking during an interaction with Filmigyan, Warsi said he personally does not have a problem with nepotism. He argued that while family connections may help someone enter the industry faster, an actor's long-term success ultimately depends on talent and the ability to perform.
His comments have reopened a familiar question in Bollywood: Does having a famous surname guarantee success, or does it merely provide an easier entry into an extremely competitive industry?

Doruvu Paul Jagan Babu: Assistant Chief Editor: A brutal murder inside a home, 27 stab wounds, two schoolchildren allegedly involved, a grudge born from disciplinary action, an attempted theft, fear of recognition, and an iPhone purchased with the stolen money—this disturbing chain of events is not merely a police case. It is a warning to parents, schools, communities and society that technological progress and academic development cannot by themselves produce responsible human beings. When education expands but conscience weakens, crime can grow alongside development.

A crime that forces society to look beyond the crime scene

The murder of Rupa Reddy, who was reportedly stabbed 27 times inside her own home, is horrifying not only because of its brutality but also because of the alleged involvement of two 10th-grade students.

According to the account provided, the investigation initially had no clear lead.
