Muhammadu Buhari Dies at 82 – Cause and Analysis

Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari died on July 13, 2025, in a hospital in London at the age of 82. His death was confirmed by his spokesperson and several government sources.

Reports suggest that Buhari died from leukemia, which is a type of blood cancer. Although the official announcement described his condition as a “prolonged illness,” multiple sources have confirmed leukemia as the actual cause of death.

Buhari had traveled to the United Kingdom in April 2025 for medical treatment. His health reportedly worsened over time, and he spent his final days in and out of intensive care before passing away peacefully.

President Bola Tinubu confirmed that Buhari died around 4:30 p.m. in the presence of his family members. Arrangements are being made to return his body to Nigeria for burial in line with Islamic customs.

Nigerians have reacted with a mix of sorrow and reflection. While many praised Buhari for his commitment to fighting corruption and maintaining national security, others remain critical of his leadership style and economic policies during his presidency.

Buhari was Nigeria’s military ruler from 1983 to 1985 and was later elected as a democratic president, serving two terms from 2015 to 2023. His leadership style was known for being strict and disciplined.

His passing marks the end of a significant chapter in Nigeria’s political history. The country is now preparing to observe a national period of mourning.

Biafran Soldier Calls for Global Support Against Genocide in Newly Surfaced Video

A newly emerging video has surfaced online, showing a Biafran liberation soldier deep in the jungle, making an urgent clarion call to soldiers worldwide. Dressed in combat gear, with the Biafran flag draped behind him, he passionately calls upon freedom fighters, veterans, and defenders of justice to rally behind the Biafran cause.

In the video, the soldier speaks of an unfolding genocide, accusing the Tinubu administration and Eastern state governors of importing foreign mercenaries armed with heavy weapons to suppress the Biafran people’s right to self-determination. He highlights the brutal crackdown on civilians, the destruction of villages, and the silence of the international community. With unwavering resolve, he urges the world to take action, warning that history will judge those who ignore the suffering of the oppressed.

The video, spreading rapidly across social media and encrypted channels, has sparked intense reactions, with supporters hailing the call for resistance while others fear an escalation of violence in the region.
