Dining out has become a part of everyday culture — but are we evolving with it?

Working in the hospitality industry at a standalone restaurant, I’ve seen how restaurants have transformed from being special-occasion spots to regular hangouts. It’s a great shift—but not without challenges.

What troubles me is the behaviour of some guests. Whether under the influence or not, I’ve witnessed people fighting, misbehaving with staff, and making others uncomfortable.

Dining out is meant to be a joyful, shared experience—not a stressful one.
It makes me wonder: should there be a learning institute or awareness program to teach basic dining etiquette and respectful behaviour in public spaces?
Because enjoying a good meal should never come at the cost of someone else’s peace or dignity.

What are your thoughts? Do we need more conversations around this?
