East Kameng wrestlers shine at state-level championship

Itanagar | April 2025

Wrestlers from the East Kameng Wrestling Association delivered an impressive performance at the recent state-level wrestling championship, securing multiple medals across various categories.

In the Greco-Roman men’s category, Dudu Bagang won the gold medal in the 60 kg division, while Kamta Phassang bagged the bronze in the 67 kg weight class.

The freestyle men’s section brought further success, with Chaya Chege earning a gold medal in the 61 kg category and Barose Techi winning bronze in the 55 kg division.

In the freestyle women’s category, Yajani Lapung secured a bronze medal, adding to the district’s overall medal count.

The team was led under the guidance of (EKWA ) East Kameng wrestling Association. General Secretary, Shri.Tadap Bagang and (EKWA) East kameng wrestling Association., President Shri.Hopio Bagang. Their combined efforts have once again highlighted East Kameng’s growing presence in the wrestling arena.
