1. Vandalism at Tagore’s Ancestral Home
In Sirajganj, a minor dispute over parking fees at Rabindranath Tagore’s ancestral mansion escalated into violent vandalism. The auditorium and several important parts of the estate were damaged. Although initially termed a "misunderstood personal conflict," both police and archaeology authorities have launched investigations. The incident has gone viral and triggered strong political reactions in Indian states like West Bengal and Tripura.
2. New Wave of COVID – XFG and XFC Sub-Variants
A resurgence of COVID-19 has begun across the country with new Omicron sub-variants (JN.1, XFG, XFC). Although not extremely severe yet, infection and death rates are rising.
