Country music legend Dolly Parton has died at the age of 80, her family announced on Tuesday. The singer-songwriter, who rose from poverty in Tennessee to become one of the world’s most celebrated musicians, was known for timeless hits including “Jolene” and “Coat of Many Colors.”

Parton wrote around 3,000 songs during a career spanning six decades, including “I Will Always Love You,” later made globally famous by Whitney Houston.

Her death comes months after she cancelled a series of Las Vegas concerts, citing ongoing health concerns. Her family did not disclose the cause of death.

Lollapalooza India will return to Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse on January 23 and 24, 2027, for its fifth edition, organisers announced on Tuesday.

The two-day festival will feature performances across four stages and more than 20 hours of live music, with the artist lineup to be announced later. Since its India debut in 2023, the festival has featured international acts including Imagine Dragons, The Strokes, Sting, Green Day, Linkin Park and Shawn Mendes, alongside Indian artists such as DIVINE, Prateek Kuhad and Hanumankind.

The 2027 edition will also continue its initiative, focusing on sustainability, accessibility and inclusivity, alongside food, art installations and other cultural experiences.

Cristiano Ronaldo has married his longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez in an intimate ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, after nearly a decade together. The football superstar confirmed the wedding by sharing a photo of their hands displaying their wedding rings, along with the caption “C (heart) G”.

The couple, who first met in 2016 when Rodriguez worked at a Gucci store in Madrid, have built a family together and share five children. Their wedding comes exactly one year after Rodriguez announced their engagement on Instagram.

Renu Dhariyal from Uttarakhand has claimed the Guinness World Record for the longest hair on a living person (female), with her raven tresses measuring an astonishing 271.50 cm (8 ft 10 in).

Her record was verified in Haldwani in April, surpassing Ukraine’s Aliia Nasyrova, whose hair measured 257.33 cm. Dhariyal has been growing her hair continuously since 2015 and says she has never cut it.

A content creator and YouTuber, she shares homemade hair-care tips and advocates natural products. She says maintaining her exceptionally long hair requires hours of washing and detangling, along with patience and consistency.

Marvel Studios is assembling a new generation of mutants for its much-awaited X-Men reboot, with several major actors now linked to iconic characters.

'Heartstopper' star Kit Connor is expected to play Scott Summers, better known as Cyclops, one of the founding members and leaders of the X-Men. 'Stranger Things' star Sadie Sink has already joined Marvel’s mutant lineup as Jean Grey, marking a major step in the studio’s plans for a younger X-Men team. Samara Weaving is also set to portray Emma Frost, the powerful telepath previously played by January Jones.

The reboot is shaping up to introduce a fresh generation of mutants to the MCU.

Veteran actor Pradeep Rawat, best known for his memorable performances in Ghajini, Lagaan and as Ashwatthama in B.R. Chopra's Mahabharat, has passed away in Mumbai at the age of 74 following a relapse of cancer. His manager confirmed that the actor had been hospitalised for over a month before his demise.

Rawat, who worked across Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Nepali cinema during a career spanning more than four decades, was widely admired for his commanding screen presence and powerful portrayals of antagonists.

Ryan Gosling is officially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Ghost Rider, with Marvel Studios announcing the casting during a surprise reveal at San Diego Comic-Con.

Gosling said the anti-hero is a character he has wanted to play for a long time. The film, directed by Shawn Levy, is scheduled for release in 2028 and will mark the third standalone Ghost Rider movie.

The announcement was one of several major Marvel updates at Comic-Con, including previews of upcoming MCU projects and future film releases.

Ryan Reynolds surprised fans at Marvel Studios' San Diego Comic-Con panel by appearing in a brand-new grey Deadpool suit and jokingly campaigning for a role in Avengers: Doomsday.

Staying in character throughout, Reynolds quipped with Paul Rudd before asking whether there was still room in the film. Robert Downey Jr., returning as Doctor Doom, hilariously shut down the request, saying, "It's in the can, bro."

The lively exchange entertained Hall H as Marvel unveiled exclusive footage from the highly anticipated film, which is set to release on December 18, 2026.
