II An FIR has been lodged at Raga Police Station in Kamle district against a man for allegedly attacking his wife with a machete and leaving her critically injured in a forested area near Repari village.

The incident reportedly took place on the evening of July 21. In the complaint, the woman’s elder brother alleged that the accused, Pegmir Kasa (41), assaulted his wife, Pegmir Yajik Hui (40), and later abandoned her by the roadside in a jungle area.

The FIR stated that Kasa had earlier allegedly assaulted Hui multiple times.
The complainant further stated that this had led the couple to sign a mutual agreement on April 24 this year, in the presence of family members, to prevent further domestic violence.

However, the FIR expressed concern over the woman’s safety, as she was found in serious condition following the latest assault.
The complainant has demanded Kasa’s arrest and necessary action under appropriate sections of the BNS Act.
