If someone does not support you in public, chances are they have spoken against you in private.

It may sound harsh, but over the years I have seen that silence is often a strong signal.

Support is not just about applause. It is about advocacy when you are not in the room.

I have seen talented people lose opportunities not because of a lack of ability, but because the people around them chose convenience over courage.

Pay attention to those who:

✅ Appreciate you privately but never publicly
✅ Agree with you one on one but stay silent in groups
✅ Celebrate your success in messages but not in meetings

Not everyone who smiles with you is standing with you.

The lesson is not to become bitter.
The lesson is to identify your real allies.

Build relationships with people who:

• Give credit where it is due
• Defend you when it is uncomfortable
• Speak positively about you when you are absent
• Celebrate your wins without feeling threatened

Your reputation is often built in rooms you never enter.

Choose and build your circle wisely.

Some people are smiling outside while silently falling apart inside.

I am seeing a change in corporate life and in life overall.

Large number of people are slowly dying inside in ways the world never notices.

Some stopped taking photos.
Some lost interest in new clothes.
Some hate love now.
Some got used to loneliness.
Some stopped meeting friends.
Some stopped comparing.
Some just accepted what they couldn’t achieve.

The same people who once dreamed big are now just pushing through days.

Some are surviving toxic workplaces.
Some are exhausted from proving themselves every day.
Some are silently carrying failures, financial pressure, heartbreak or loneliness.

Not because they are weak.
But because life became heavier than they ever expected.

So before judging someone for being distant, quiet, cold or “changed”, please check on them.

A small conversation, a genuine message or simply listening can save someone from fighting alone.

Not everyone is okay.

Do you also see the change around you ?

No other function is judged emotionally as much as HR. Blaming HR or any one function alone for organizational dysfunction is like blaming doctors for society falling sick.

HR is perhaps the only department that people love before joining, need during crisis and criticize during disappointment. They deserve far more respect than it usually gets.

Recently, Ryan Breslow, CEO of fintech company Bolt, made headlines after reportedly removing the company’s HR team and stating that HR was “creating problems that did not exist.” The statement triggered massive debate globally.

What do you think? (Only criticism is neither good for the company, manager nor HR) What more HR professionals should do? Do write. It will help me and many.

People do not always stand for what’s right. Most stand where it benefits them.

The corporate world teaches this lesson quietly.

Support is loud when things are going well. Advice is free when success is visible.
Loyalty feels strong when there is nothing to lose.

But the real test comes when truth becomes uncomfortable. That is when many choose,

Convenience over character
Silence over courage
Personal gain over principles.

Know such people:

• They support publicly but disappear privately during difficult times.
• Their opinions change depending on who holds power in the room.
• They stand with values only when there is no personal risk involved.
• They celebrate your success but distance themselves from your struggles.
• Their loyalty depends on benefit, not belief.

It can disappoint you but adds to valuable experience.

Deal with such people:

1. Stop expecting permanent loyalty from temporary people.
2. Observe actions more than words. Pressure reveals true character.
3. Protect your peace and professionalism — never react emotionally.
4. Build your career on competence and integrity, not approval.
5. Stay kind, but become wiser about who deserves your trust.

Do not lose individuality for others.

In the long run, people may forget who benefited from situations but they always remember who stood with integrity when it mattered most.

Someone else’s downfall in office can never become the shortcut to your success.

Corporate life has taught me one powerful lesson: People who spend their energy pulling others down may win attention for a moment…
But they rarely win respect for a lifetime.

Real growth does not come from:

❌ Office politics
❌ Gossip corridors
❌ Character assassination
❌ Taking credit for others’ work
❌ Celebrating someone’s failure

Because every organisation eventually discovers the difference between:

👉 People who build value and
👉 People who build negativity.

The strongest professionals are the ones who:

✔ Help others grow
✔ Stay calm during chaos
✔ Compete with standards, not with sabotage
✔ Let their work speak louder than rumours

Remember, in the long run, integrity outlasts manipulation. Character outlasts cleverness and contribution always outlasts politics.

Success achieved by breaking others is temporary. Success achieved by building people build legacy.
