The deepest betrayal is not when someone leaves. It is
when they leave after manipulating your emotions, telling
lies, giving serious family reasons, making fool of you and
forcing you to question your own kindness.
Sometimes, we genuinely invest in people.
We trust them.
We give them opportunities.
We stand by them when others do not.
We open doors for them.
We believe in their potential even before they believe in
themselves.
And then one day, they decide to move on
That part is okay.
People have the right to choose their journey.
What hurts is when they leave by telling lies, distorting
facts and conveniently forgetting who stood beside them.
That makes me realise a few uncomfortable lessons for
future.
Be watchful of these behaviour:
1. Do not confuse gratitude with loyalty.
2. Do not over invest emotionally
3. Do not ignore character.
4. Do not believe every story told.
Few things to do:
1. Trust but verify
2. Help people grow but do not be dependent and make
them dependent
3. Give freely but do not expect
4. Accept people moving on with dishonesty
5. Do not fight every false narrative and Keep your dignity
Some will remember it.
Some won't.
Some will walk away with gratitude.
Some will walk away and tell a different story.
And, that's ok.
Do not overplay your role in anyone's life.
