JKAS Officers Inaugurate Basketball Tournament at Doon School Srinagar
A basketball tournament was inaugurated at Doon School Srinagar with enthusiastic participation from students and sports lovers.
The tournament was formally inaugurated by JKAS officer Mehnaz Chishti, ARTO Headquarters Srinagar, along with Mudasir Ahmed, Planning Officer RTO Kashmir. The event was also attended by Syed Tajmul,

Mr sayan khan and department of sports and all the coordinators
who appreciated the efforts of the organizers in promoting sports activities among youth.
Speaking on the occasion, the guests highlighted the importance of sports in shaping discipline, teamwork, and positive engagement among students. They encouraged participants to continue excelling in sports alongside academics.
The organizers said the tournament aims to provide a platform for young talent and promote basketball culture among students in Srinagar.
The inaugural ceremony witnessed participation of students, teachers, and local sports enthusiasts.

After repeated public protests over the shortage of drinking water in several areas of Pattan, AEE PHE Pattan, Mudasir Ahmad, visited Najar Mohalla, Wani Mohalla, Sofi Mohalla and other affected localities to assess the situation on ground.

Speaking to the residents during the visit, AEE PHE Mudasir Ahmad said that the department has taken immediate steps to redress the problem and necessary pipelines have been arranged for the affected areas to improve water supply.

He assured the public that the department is working seriously to resolve the issue at the earliest and appealed to the people not to politicise the matter, stating that it is purely a government work aimed at public welfare.

Locals expressed hope that the water shortage issue will now be resolved soon following the intervention of the PHE department.

Following the recent hailstorm that caused extensive damage in several areas Of Pattan Constituency, MLA Pattan Javaid Riyaz Bedar today visited the affected villages in his constituency to take stock of the situation.

During the visit, he interacted with residents, reviewed the damage to orchards, crops and assured the people that their concerns would be strongly taken up with the administration.

The MLA urged the government to provide immediate relief and adequate compensation to the affected families, emphasizing the need for prompt assessment and restoration measures. He also directed the concerned officials to remain on the ground and ensure timely assistance to the residents facing hardship due to the hailstorm.

A severe hailstorm lashed several areas of Pattan on Tuesday, causing heavy damage to crops, orchards and residential property. The sudden weather disturbance affected many villages in the area, leaving farmers and locals worried over huge financial losses.

The Civil Society Pattan has appealed to the higher authorities and district administration to immediately assess the losses and provide adequate compensation to the affected families and farmers. The members urged the government to extend all possible assistance to the victims so that they can recover from the damage at the earliest.

Locals have also demanded a special relief package for the affected areas, stating that many families are dependent on agriculture and horticulture for their livelihood.
