*Thousands Bid Tearful Farewell to Beloved Dera Nangali Sahib Sewadar ‘Chachu Ji’*

Poonch: Dera Nangali Sahib Sewadar Balwant Singh Ji, whom people lovingly called “Chachu Ji”, was cremated today at Dera Nangali Sahib amid the presence of thousands of people.

The entire final-rites programme was held under the overall supervision of Mahant Manjeet Singh Ji, Dera Mukhi, Dera Nangali Sahib.

A large number of devotees, relatives, members of the local community and admirers gathered at Nangali Sahib to pay their last respects and bid a tearful farewell to the beloved Sewadar.

The atmosphere turned emotional as people paid their Shradhanjali and remembered Chachu Ji for his humble nature, dedicated service and close association with Dera Nangali Sahib.

From the District Administration Poonch, DC Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma, along with ACR Mohammad Sayeed and Tehsildar Azhar Majid, remained present.

From the Police Department, Additional SP Dr. Ajay Sharma, DySP DAR Shashikant Sharma and SHO Poonch City Aejaz Wani were also present.

राजौरी में भारी बारिश के बीच बड़ा रेस्क्यू ऑपरेशन! 6 बच्चों समेत 10 लोगों को सुरक्षित निकाला गया

भारी बारिश के बीच भड़ून इलाके में फंसे 10 लोगों की जान उस वक्त बचाई गई, जब पुलिस और SDRF की संयुक्त टीम ने तेजी से रेस्क्यू ऑपरेशन चलाया।

पुलिस और SDRF की तत्परता से 6 बच्चों समेत सभी 10 लोगों को सुरक्षित बाहर निकाल लिया गया। खराब मौसम और लगातार बारिश के बीच टीमों की समय पर कार्रवाई ने बड़ा हादसा टाल दिया।

राजौरी में लगातार बारिश के कारण नदी-नालों और जलभराव वाले क्षेत्रों में खतरा बढ़ गया है। प्रशासन की अपील है कि लोग बाढ़ प्रभावित इलाकों, नदी-नालों और तेज बहाव वाले पानी से दूरी बनाए रखें।

सतर्क रहें, सुरक्षित रहें और मौसम खराब होने पर अनावश्यक यात्रा से बचें।

Today, the sacred Chhari Yatra returned to Dashnami Akhara, Poonch, after passing through the holy Amarnath Yatra route. The entire administration, along with devotees and people of Poonch, had been eagerly waiting to welcome the Chhari back. With great devotion and enthusiasm, the Chhari reached Dashnami Akhara today, marking the successful conclusion of its sacred journey. The return of the Chhari brought a spiritual atmosphere and joy among devotees and the local community.

*National Sports Day Celebrated with Zeal at Model Boys Higher Secondary School Poonch*
Poonch, August 29, 2026: National Sports Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and sporting spirit at Shaheed Dy.SP Manjeet Singh Memorial Model Boys Higher Secondary School, Poonch, today. The day is observed annually across the country on August 29 to commemorate the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand and to promote awareness about the importance of sports in daily life. The programme was organised under the overall supervision of Mr Anwar Khan, Principal, Model Boys Higher Secondary School Poonch.
Dr Ajay Sharma, Additional SP, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He was accompanied by distinguished guests of honour, including Mr Mohd Qasim, District Youth Sports and Services Officer, Poonch; Mr Mushtaq Ahmed, Incharge Manager, Sports Stadium Poonch; and Ms Sarla Rani, Zonal Physical Education Officer, Poonch. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Mr Shabi-ul-Hasan, Senior Lecturer of the school, who compered the event throughout.
