PRESS NOTE
Date: 12 July 2025
Location: Nehama, Pulwama
Today, Rashtra Raksha Vahini District President Pulwama, Mr. Sajad Ahmad Najar, along with Constituency President Pampore, Mr. Nisar Ahmad Lone, and his team, visited the NTPHC Nehama to address public grievances.
During the visit, it was observed that the residents of the area are facing serious hardships due to the poor functioning of the health centre. Multiple concerns were raised by the local people, which include:
1. Shortage of Medical Officers
Currently, only one medical officer is posted at the NTPHC Nehama. However, it has come to notice that two other medical officers are drawing salaries from the same centre but are not present on duty. This has led to a significant shortage of medical support.
2. No Pharmacist Available
The hospital does not have any pharmacist, causing difficulties in dispensing medicines to patients.
3. Lack of Nursing Orderly
There is no nursing orderly available to assist in patient care and operations.
4. Sweeper Issue
The appointed sweeper has been transferred to Pulwama. In his place, a part-time sweeper has been assigned, who is often absent from duty. This raises serious concerns regarding cleanliness and hygiene in the hospital.
The residents have been suffering from these issues for several years. The RRV team has assured the public that their grievances will be taken to the higher authorities for immediate redressal and necessary action.
