Exam - Office of LG Clarifies on JKPSC Exam Row, Calls Social Media Claims "Misleading"

Srinagar, Dec 6:
The Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday issued a strong clarification, stating that several social media posts circulating about the JKPSC examination and the age relaxation issue are “misleading” and “factually incorrect.”

According to the LG’s Office, the file concerning age relaxation reached Lok Bhavan on 2 December 2025 and was exclusively related to the matter of age relaxation. The file was returned the same day with a specific query asking whether it was logistically feasible to conduct the JKAS Preliminary Examination on 7 December 2025 after making last-minute changes in the eligibility criteria.

However, the LG’s Office noted that four days have passed since the query was sent, and no response has been received from the concerned quarters.

“I fully sympathize with young aspirants,” the Office stated, adding that the JKPSC had earlier issued the advertisement notice for the exam on 22 August 2025, followed by the exam notification on 6 November 2025, scheduling the Preliminary Examination for 7 December 2025.

The clarification comes amid widespread anxiety and confusion among aspirants over the possibility of age relaxation and the fate of the scheduled exam. (())
