Drug Peddler Arrested; 10 Grams of Heroin-like Substance Recovered

Poonch, October 10, 2025:
In a major success against the menace of narcotics, Poonch Police has arrested a habitual drug peddler and recovered approximately 10 grams of heroin-like substance (Chitta) from his possession.

Acting on specific information, a special naka was established by Police Station Surankote at Mirza Morh. During checking, one person was intercepted, and during his personal search, around 10 grams of heroin-like substance (Chitta) was recovered from his possession.

Accordingly, the accused was taken into custody and a case FIR No. 228/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Surankote.

It is pertinent to mention that the accused is a habitual drug peddler, and several FIRs are already registered against him at different police stations. Details of his previous involvements are being verified. The accused was reportedly supplying narcotics to youth in the areas of Sanai, Lathong, and Lassana.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain the forward and backward linkages of the accused in the narcotics trade.

Poonch Police Arrest Two Persons with Narcotic Substance in Loran Area

Poonch, October 09, 2025:
Continuing its drive against the menace of drugs, Police Station Loran today apprehended two individuals and recovered charas-like substance from their possession.

During a naka established at Lohelbela, Loran, the police party intercepted two suspicious persons — both residents of Lohelbela, Loran, Tehsil Mandi.

During their personal search, charas-like substance weighing approximately 54 grams was recovered from their possession. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 21/2025 under Sections 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Loran, and investigation has been initiated.

District Police Poonch remains committed to its ongoing efforts to eliminate the drug menace and safeguard the youth from substance abuse.
