जिसे तुम अपना कहते हो,
वही बंधन बनता है।

जिससे तुम कहते हो,
“यह मेरा है”,
वहीं से पकड़ शुरू होती है।

वस्तु हो, व्यक्ति हो,
धन हो या कोई विचार,
जैसे ही उस पर
‘मेरा’ का भाव आता है,
मन उसके खोने से डरने लगता है।

वेदांत कहता है,
बंधन वस्तुओं में नहीं,
उनके प्रति हमारी आसक्ति में है।

जो कुछ तुम्हारे पास है,
उसका उपयोग करो,
उससे प्रेम करो,
लेकिन उसे अपना स्थायी स्वरूप मत मानो।

क्योंकि जो तुम्हारा है,
वह एक दिन छूट जाएगा।
लेकिन जो वास्तव में तुम हो,
उसे कभी खोया नहीं जा सकता।

जिसे तुम अपना कहते हो,
उसे छोड़ना ही वैराग्य है।
और जो तुम वास्तव में हो,
उसे पहचान लेना ही मुक्ति है।
